Monica Lamb-Yorski Staff Writer More than 500 people were without power overnight Wednesday, March 11, north and south of Black Creek Road in the Horsefly area after an impaired female driving a red pickup truck struck a power pole. Members of the Williams Lake
RCMP were called to the scene of the collision at 10:55 p.m., Staff Sgt. Del Byron told the Tribune Thursday. “The power pole was broken and knocked down,” Byron said. Hydro was restored to the impacted residences by 5:44 a.m. Thursday, according to BC Hydro’s website. Bryon said Williams Lake
RCMP members were also dispatched to a domestic incident on Toosey First Nation, at 2:06 a.m. Thursday, March 12. One female was arrested. Investigation into the incident continues. Meanwhile, on Wednesday, March 11 at 1:31 a.m. a white GMC pickup truck collided with a light standard on Westridge
Drive. When a witness stopped to ask the driver if he was OK, the driver took off. Earlier, the truck had been spotted driving up Highway 97 and going into the ditch by Boston Pizza. Anyone with information about the white GMC pickup is asked to contact RCMP Const. Lenz at 250-392-6211.
