It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, Ev’rywhere you go; Take a look in the five-and-ten, glistening once again, With candy canes and silver lanes aglow.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, Ev’rywhere you go; There’s a tree in the Grand Hotel, one in the park as well, The sturdy kind that doesn’t mind the snow.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, Toys in ev’ry store, But the prettiest sight to see, is the holly that will be, On your own front door.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas; Soon the bells will start, And the thing that will make them ring, Is the carol that you sing. Right within your heart.

A pair of hop along boots and a pistol that shoots, Is the wish of Barney and Ben; Dolls that will talk, and go for a walk, Is the hope of Janice and Jen; And mom and dad can hardly wait, for school to start again.

All Through the Night Sleep, the Child and peace attend thee, All through the night. Guardian angels God will send thee, All through the night. Soft the drowsy hours are creeping, Hill and vale in slumber sleeping. God His loving vigil keeping, All through the night. While the moon her watch is keeping, All through the night. While the weary world is sleeping, All throught the night. Through your dreams you’re swiftly stealing, Visions of delight so revealing. Christmas-time is so appealling, All through the night

A Holly Jolly Christmas Have a holly, jolly Christmas, It’s the best time of the year. I don’t know, if there’ll be snow, But have a cup of cheer. Have a holly, jolly Christmas, And when you walk down the street, Say hello, to friends you know, And everyone you meet! Oh, ho, the mistletoe, Hung where you can see. Somebody waits for you, Kiss her once for me. Have a holly, jolly Christmas, And in case you didn’t hear, Oh, by golly, have a holly, jolly Christmas, This year!

Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer You know Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen, Comet and Cupid and Donner and Blitzen, But do you recall The most famous reindeer of all? Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer Had a very shiny nose And if you ever saw it, You would even say it glows. All of the other reindeer Used to laugh and call him names They never let poor Rudolph Join in any reindeer games. Then one foggy Christmas eve, Santa came to say: “Rudolph, with your nose so bright Won’t you guide my sleigh tonight?” Then how the reindeer loved him As they shouted out with glee: “Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer, You’ll go down in history.”

Away in a Manger Be near me, Lord Jesus, I ask Thee to stay Close by me forever and love me, I pray; Bless all the dear children in Thy tender care, And take us to heaven to live with Thee there.

Away in a manger, no crib for a bed, The Little Lord Jesus laid down His sweet head; The stars in the sky looked down where He lay The little Lord Jesus asleep on the hay. The cattle are lowing, the Baby awakes, But little Lord Jesus no crying He makes; I love Thee, Lord Jesus; look down from the sky, And stay by my cradle ‘til morning is nigh.

Silent Night Silent night, Holy night! All is calm, all is bright; Round yon virgin mother and child! Holy infant, so tender and mild. Sleep in heavenly peace, Sleep in heavenly peace.

Silent night, Holy night! Son of God, love’s pure light Radiant beams from Thy holy face With the dawn of redeeming grace. Jesus Lord at thy birth.

Silent night, Holy night! Shepherds quake at the sight! Glories stream from heaven afar, Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia. Christ, the Saviour is born! Christ, the Saviour is born!

White Christmas I’m dreaming of a white Christmas Just like the ones I used to know, Where the treetops glisten, and children listen To hear sleighbells in the snow. I’m dreaming of a white Christmas With every Christmas card I write May your days be merry and bright, And may all your Christmases be white.

Fieldstone Juliettes While exploring the Dordogne region in France, Paul Hanley, owner and head baker at Fieldstone Artisan Breads, watched a talented local baker give a little girl a cookie at his bakery as a Christmas treat. Paul asked to try the cookie and later, over a glass of Bergerac, the amiable baker shared his special cookie recipe. Fieldstone now makes these cookies every year and calls them Juliettes after the little girl through whom we discovered them. These decadent Christmas cookies have an intense chocolate flavour - the better the quality of the chocolate you use, the better your cookies will be! Ingredients: 350 grams bittersweet chocolate 56 grams butter 150ml eggs 112 grams white sugar 150 grams ground almonds Extra granulated sugar for garnish

Then fold the melted chocolate into the remaining egg mixture. Before the eggs and chocolate become completely incorporated, add almonds and fold in. Be careful not to over mix! Cover and chill completely, ideally overnight. Form dough into small balls using a melon baller. Roll balls in extra granulated sugar and place on a parchment lined baking sheet. Bake at 325 degrees until cookies spread and are soft and still a little gooey in the center (approximately 12 minutes). Courtesy of Fieldstone Artisan Breads

Method: Melt the chocolate and butter in a double boiler. Whip eggs and granulated sugar until mixture is thick and smooth. Fold Âź of the egg mixture into the melted chocolate.

Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Oh, the weather outside is frightful, But the fire is so delightful, And since we’ve no place to go, Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow. It doesn’t show signs of stopping, And I brought some corn for popping; The lights are turned way down low, Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow. When we finally kiss good night, how I’ll hate going out in the storm;

But if you really hold me tight, All the way home I’ll be warm. Well, the fire is slowly dying, And, my dear, we’re still good-byeing, But as long as you love me so, Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

It Came Upon a Midnight Clear It came upon a midnight clear, That glorious song of old, From angels bending near the earth To touch their harps of gold; “Peace on the earth, goodwill to men From Heaven’s all gracious King,” The world in solemn stillness lay To hear the angels sing. Yet with the woes of sin and strife The world has suffered long; Beneath the angel-strain have rolled Two thousand years of wrong; And men, at war with men, hear not The words of peace they bring; O hush the noise ye men of strife, And hear the angels sing.

Joyful, all ye nations, rise, Join the triumph of the skies; With angelic hosts proclaim, Christ is born in Bethlehem! Hark! the Herald angels sing Glory to the new born King. Christ, by highest heav’n adored; Christ, the everlasting lord; Late in time behold Him come, Offspring of a virgin’s womb, Veiled in flesh the God-head see; Hail th’Incarnate Deity. Icing • 3 egg whites • 3 tsp liquid glucose or glycerine • 4 cups confectioner's sugar, sifted • a deep 9-inch round cake pan, greased and lined with a double layer of parchment paper and with a double thickness of parcel paper tied around the outside of the pan

Place the cake upside-down on a cake board and brush the top and sides with the glaze. Roll out half the marzipan on a surface dusted with confectioner's sugar to fit the top of the cake. Put the marzipan round on top of the cake, then smooth over and neaten the edges. Roll out the remaining marzipan into a long strip to fit the sides of the cake, then roll up, place one end against the side of the cake, and unroll to cover the sides and joins. Leave in a cool, dry place for 1-2 days, to allow the marzipan to dry.

The Christmas Song Chestnuts roasting on an open fire, Jack Frost nipping at your nose; Yuletide carols being sung by a choir And folks dressed up like Eskimos. Everybody knows that turkey and some mistletoe Help to make the season bright; Tiny tots with their eyes all aglow Will find it hard to sleep tonight. They know that Santa’s on his way; He’s loaded lots of toys and goodies on his sleigh And every mother’s child is gonna spy To see if reindeer really know how to fly. And so I’m offering this simple phrase, To kids from one to ninety-two; Although it’s been said many times, many ways, Merry Christmas to you.

The First Noel The first Noel, the angel did say, Was to certain poor shepherds in fields where they lay. In fields where they, lay keeping their sheep, On a cold winter’s night, that was so deep.

And by the light of that same star, Three wise men came from countries afar. To seek for a-King, was their intent, And to follow the star, where ever it went. Refrain

Refrain: Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel Born is the King of Israel.

This star drew nigh, to the northwest, O’er Bethlehem it took its rest. And there it did, both pause and stay, Right over the place, where Jesus lay. Refrain

They looked up and saw a star, Shining in the east beyond them so far. And to the earth, it gave great light, And so it continued both day and night Refrain

Then entered in those, wise men three, Full reverently, upon their knee. And offered there, in His presence, Their gold and myrrh, and frankincense. Refrain

Clancy’s Fancy Sugar Cookies • 2 cups butter (soft/room temperature) • 2 cups white sugar • 4 eggs • 2 tsp vanilla • ¾ cup milk • 6 cups flour • 2 tbsp baking powder • ½ tsp salt

Let cool on baking rack (at least 30 minutes) and then ice with royal icing ( 1/3 cup meringue powder, 3 ½ cups icing sugar and 1/3 cup of water – mix for 3 to 5 minutes). Divide up royal icing into 4 bowls, use red, green, blue food colouring and also keep one white. Pick a colour and gently spread icing on the top of the cookies and decorate with sprinkles! Make them extra fancy!

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. · Cream butter, eggs, sugar, vanilla in large bowl · Add flour and other dry ingredients, alternating with milk, to the butter and egg mixture · Pack into a ball, cover tightly with plastic wrap and put in fridge overnight (or at least 2 hours). You can also freeze dough (in a freezer bag) at this point to use at a later time. · Flour your working surface and roll out small portions of dough, to about ¼ to ½ inch thick. Cut with your favourite holiday shapes.

Cookies (with or without icing) freeze nicely for 3 weeks. Bring them out when you have guests all holiday season! - Courtesy of Clancy’s Tea Cosy

·Bake on greased cookie sheet (or stoneware) for about 10-12 minutes. Bottoms should be lightly browned.

Santa Claus is Coming to Town You better watch out; you better not cry; Better not pout; I’m telling you why: Santa Claus is comin’ to town. He’s making a list and checking it twice; Gonna find out who’s naughty and nice; Santa Claus is comin’ to town. He sees you when you’re sleepin’; He knows when you’re awake; He knows if you’ve been bad or good; So be good for goodness sake. Oh! you better watch out; you better not cry; Better not pout; I’m telling you why; Santa Claus is comin’ to town.

Here Comes Santa Claus Here comes Santa Claus, Here comes Santa Claus, Right down Santa Claus Lane. Vixen and Blitzen and all his reindeer, Are pulling on the rein. Bells are ringing, children singing, All is merry and bright. Hang your stockings, And say your prayers, Cause Santa Claus comes tonight. Here comes Santa Claus, Here comes Santa Claus, Right down Santa Claus Lane. He’s got a bag that is filled with toys, For the girls and boys again. Hear those sleigh bells jingle, jangle, What a beautiful sight. Jump in bed, cover up your head, ‘Cause Santa Claus comes tonight.

Sleigh Ride Just hear those sleigh bells jingling, ringting-tingling, too; Come on, it’s lovely weather for a sleigh ride together with you. Outside, the snow is falling and friends are calling “Yoo-hoo”; Come on, it’s lovely weather for a sleigh ride together with you. Giddy-yap, giddy-yap, giddy-yap, let’s go; Let’s look at the show; We’re riding in a wonderland of snow. Giddy-yap, giddy-yap, giddy-yap, it’s grand, Just holding your hand; We’re gliding along with a song of a wintery fairyland. Our cheeks are nice and rosy, and comfy cozy are we; We’re snuggled up together like two birds of a feather would be.

Let’s take that road before us and sing a chorus or two; Come on, it’s lovely weather for a sleigh ride together with you.

Rocking Around the Christmas Tree Rocking around, the Christmas tree, At the Christmas party hop. Mistletoe hung where you can see Ev’ry couple tries to stop, Rockin’ around the Christmas tree, Let the Christmas spirit ring. Later we’ll have some pumpkin pie, And we’ll do some caroling. You will get a sentimental feeling, When you hear, Voices singing “Let’s be jolly, Deck the halls with boughs of holly.” Rocking around the Christmas tree, Have a happy holiday, Ev’ryone dancing merrily, In the new old fashioned way.

Frosty the Snowman He led them down the streets of town right to the traffic cop, And he only paused a moment when he heard him holler “Stop!” For Frosty the Snow Man had to hurry on his way, But he waved good-bye, sayin’, Don’t you cry; I’ll be back again someday.” Thumpety thump thump, thumpety thump thump, Look at Frosty go; Thumpety thump thump, thumpety thump thump, Over the hills of snow.

Frosty the Snow Man was a jolly, happy soul, With a corncob pipe and a button nose and two eyes made out of coal. Frosty the Snow Man is a fairy tale, they say; He was made of snow, but the children know how he came to life one day. There must have been some magic in that old silk hat they found, For when they placed it on his head, he began to dance around. Oh, Frosty the Snow Man was as alive as he could be. And the children say he would laugh and play just the same as you and me. Frosty the Snow Man knew the sun was hot that day, So he said, “Let’s run and we’ll have some fun now before I melt away.” Down to the village with a broomstick in his hand, Running here and there all around the square, sayin’, “Catch me if you can.”

The Night Before Christmas Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. All the stockings were hung by the chimney with care In the hope that Saint Nicholas soon would be there. Then, what to my wondering eyes should appear, A miniature sleigh and eight tiny reindeer, A little old driver so lively and quick, I knew in a moment it must be Saint Nick. And more rapid than eagles his reindeer all came, As he shouted, “On, Dasher” and each reindeer’s name. And so up to the housetop the reindeer soon flew

With the sleigh full of toys and Saint Nicholas, too. Down the chimney he came with a leap and a bound; He was dressed all in fur, and his belly was round. He spoke not a word but went straight to his work, And filled all the stockings, then turned with a jerk. And laying his finger aside of his nose, Then giving a nod up the chimney he rose. But I heard him exclaim as he drove out of sight. “Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!”

Up on the Housetop Up on the housetop reindeer pause; Out jumps good old Santa Claus, Down through the chimney with lots of toys, All for the little ones’ Christmas joys. CHORUS Ho, ho, ho, who wouldn’t go? Ho, ho, ho, who wouldn’t go Up on the housetop, click, click, click, Down through the chimney with good Saint Nick.

Look in the stocking of little Bill; Oh, just see that glorious fill, Here is a hammer and lots of tacks, Whistles and ball and a set of jacks. CHORUS

First comes the stocking of little Nell; Oh, dear Santa, fill it well; Give her a dolly that laughs and cries, One that can open and shut its eyes. CHORUS

We wish you a very special Christmas and a Happy New Year filled with Health and Happiness!

We Three Kings We three kings of Orient are, Bearing gifts, we traverse afar, Field and fountain, moor and mountain, Following yonder star.

Solo (Casper) Frankincense to offer have I, Incense owns a Deity nigh; Prayer and praising, all men raising, Worship him God most high.

Refrain: O star of wonder, star of night, Star with royal beauty bright, Westward leading, still proceeding, Guide us to thy perfect light.

Solo (Balthazar) Myrrh is mine, its bitter perfume, Breathes a life of gathering gloom; Sorrowing, sighing, bleeding, dying, Sealed in the stone-cold tomb.

Solo (Melchoir) Born a King on Bethlehem’s plain, Gold I bring to crown Him again, King forever, ceasing never, Over us all to reign.

Glorious now behold Him arise, King and God Sacrifice; Heavens sing Alleluia Alleluia the earth replies.

Heard the Bells On Christmas Day I heard the bells on Christmas Day Their old familiar carols play And wild and sweet the words repeat, Of peace on earth, good will to men.

And in despair I bowed my head: "There is no peace on earth," I said, "For hate is strong, and mocks the song Of peace on earth, good will to men."

And thought of how the day had come, The belfries of all Christendom Had rolled along th'unbroken song Of peace on earth, good will to men.

Then pealed the bells more loud and deep: "God is not dead, nor doth he sleep; The wrong shall fail, the right prevail, With peace on earth, good will to men."

'Til, ringing, singing on its way, The world revolved from night to day, A voice, a chime, a chant sublime, Of peace on earth, good will to men!

God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen God rest ye merry, gentlemen, Let nothing you dismay, Remember Christ our Saviour Was born on Christmas Day, To save us all from Satan's pow'r When we were gone astray. O tidings of comfort and joy, Comfort and joy, O tidings of comfort and joy.

From God our Heav'nly Father A blessed angel came; And unto certain shepherds Brought tidings of the same: How that in Bethlehem was born The Son of God by name. O tidings of comfort and joy Comfort and joy, O tidings of comfort and joy.

In Bethlehem in Israel, This blessed Babe was born, And laid within a manger. Upon this blessed morn' To which His Mother Mary Did nothing take in scorn, O tidings of comfort and joy Comfort and joy, O tidings of comfort and joy.

Now to the Lord sing praises, And you within this place, And with true love and brotherhood Each other now embrace; This holy tide of Christmas All other doth deface. O tidings of comfort and joy Comfort and joy, O tidings of comfort and joy.

We Need a Little Christmas Haul out the holly; Put up the tree before my spirit falls again Fill up the stocking I may be rushing things, but deck the halls again right now For we need a little Christmas Right this very minute Candles in the window, Carols at the spinet, Yes, we need a little Christmas Right this very minute It hasn’t snowed a single flurry But Santa dear, we’re in a hurry; So climb down the chimney; Turn on the brightest string of light I’ve ever seen. Slice up the fruitcake; It’s time we hung some tinsel on that evergreen bow.

For I’ve grown a little leaner; Grown a little colder, Grown a little sadder, Grown a little older, And I need a little angel, Sitting on my shoulder, Need a little Christmas now, For we need a little music, Need a little laughter, Need a little singing, Ringing through the rafter, And we need a little snappy, “Happy ever after,” Need a little Christmas now.

Peanut Butter Dog Biscuits Ingredients: • 2 cups whole wheat flour • 1 cup rolled oats • 1/3 cup smooth or chunky peanut butter • 1 1/4 cups hot water • Additional flour for rolling

Prep Time: 30 minutes Cook Time: 40 minutes Total Time: 70 minutes Yield: Varies Courtesy of South Point Pet Hospital

Preparation: 1. In a large bowl, whisk together flour and oats. Mix in the peanut butter and hot water. If the dough is too sticky, add more flour. 2. Knead the dough well. Round it into a ball and cover with plastic wrap and let rest 15 minutes. 3. Heat oven to 350 degrees. On floured parchment paper, roll out the dough to 1/4 inch thickness and cut into shapes with cookie cutters of choice. I use, what else, a bone cookie cutter. Since the dough doesn’t spread while baking, you can cut the biscuits close together. Remove scraps and pick up the parchment paper by opposite ends and transfer to a baking sheet. Repeat with remaining dough. 4. Bake 40 minutes. Turn off the oven and leave them in the oven to cool overnight. The dryer they get, the longer they will stay fresh. If you can’t wait that long, cool them completely on a wire rack and treat your doggie to a guilt-free snack.

What Child is This What child is this, who laid to rest On Mary’s lap is sleeping? Whom angels greet with anthems sweet, While shepherds watch are keeping. This, this is Christ the King Whom shepherds guard and angels sing; Haste, haste, to bring Him laud, The Babe, the Son of Mary. Why lies He in such mean estate, where ox and ass are feeding, Good Christian fear, for sinners here the silent word is pleading. Nails, spears shall pierce Him through, the cross be borne for me, for you, Hail, hail the Word made flesh, the Babe, the Son of Mary. So bring Him incense, gold and myrrh, come, peasant, king to own Him,

The King of kings salvation brings, let loving hearts enthrone Him. Raise, raise the song on high, the Virgin sings her lullaby; Joy, joy for Christ is born, the Babe, the Son of Mary.

I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus I saw mommy kissing Santa Claus, Underneath the mistletoe last night. She didn’t see me creep, Down the stairs to have a peep; She thought that I was tucked up in my bedroom fast asleep. Then I, saw mommy tickle Santa Claus Underneath his beard so snowy white; Oh what a laugh it would have been, If daddy had only seen, Mommy kissing Santa Claus, last night.

O Holy Night O holy night! The stars are brightly shining It is the night of the dear Saviour’s birth; Long lay the world, in sin and error pining. ‘Til He appeared and the soul felt its worth. A thrill of hope, the weary soul rejoices, For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn; Fall on your knees, O hear the angel voices! O night divine, O night when Christ was born! O night divine, O night divine, O night divine! Led by the light of faith serenely beaming, With glowing hearts by His cradle we stand. So led by light of a star sweetly gleaming, Here came the wise men from Orient land. The King of kings lay thus in lowly manger, In all our trials born to be our Friend! He knows our need–to our weakness is no stranger. Behold your King; before Him lowly bend! Behold your King; before Him lowly bend!

Truly He taught us to love one another; His law is love and His gospel is peace. Chains shall He break for the slave is our brother And in His Name all oppression shall cease. Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we, Let all within us praise His holy Name! Christ is the Lord! O praise His name forever! His pow’r and glory evermore proclaim! His pow’r and glory evermore proclaim!
