Numerous activities are being planned in celebration of Seniors Week in Mission. Festivities kick off Friday, May 30 with an informative session about senior’s issues with B.C.’s seniors advocate Isobel Mackenzie. Mackenzie was named B.C.’s first senior’s advocate in March. The role of the Office of the Seniors Advocate is to monitor seniors’ services, promote awareness and work collaboratively with seniors, families, policymakers, service providers, and others to identify solutions to systemic issues and make recommendations to government on ways to improve care for the aging population. Mackenzie will give a 45 minute presentation and be available afterwards to answer questions, said Bob Ingram, president of the Mission Seniors Activity Centre. “The featured speaker is an important event for the community,” said Ian
