Our will provide our guests with operations team, board of some thrills for the young and and countless people old. the year planning 95 Years of Horsing Around, an exhibition the whole family can enjoy. The Bulkley Valley Exhibition is truly an event put on by our community for our community. The Fall Fair has a rich history with many families whose roots run deep. The facility and grounds have been a collaborated effort of thousands of people in many different walks of life over a great length of time. The Town of Smithers and the BVAIA recognizes the importance of this facility to the community. This year’s exhibition is filled with many attractions with everything: Hall exhibits, Light Horse Show, the ever-popular Trainers Challenge, BCRA Sanctioned Rodeo, Livestock shows including swine, sheep, poultry, rabbits, and cattle. The Logger Sports will be back by popular demand and with our community built on the industry of logging and mining, I’m sure this will be an event to watch.

This year has been very active for our association, and we would like to thank all of our sponsors and volunteers for their continued support. I would like to once again welcome residents and visitors alike to this year’s fair, a highlight of the year here in the Bulkley Valley. This year’s theme, 95 years of Horsing Around, reminds us that amidst all the work of daily life, it’s important to have fun with our family, friends and neighbours. From the concerts and displays to the rodeo to the rides, the fair promises ample opportunities for just that. The theme also speaks to the fact that the fair is one of our Valley’s longest running events – a huge accomplishment for the Bulkley Valley Agricultural and Industrial Association and its volunteers. It’s hard to believe another year has gone by, and fall fair is upon us again. The theme 95 years of Horsing Around is very appropriate for this year. I can only think of how the people felt 95 years ago as the fall fair approached. Travel would have been very difficult and most people would not have had time to do much visiting during the year, so it would be a great time to see old friends and neighbours, as well as show off their vegetables and livestock to all who could make it to the fair. As I see the 4-H clubs in our area competing with their fellow members, it reminds me of my time in 4-H. We so looked forward to the annual fall fair, where we could show off our animals, and compete with all the other 4-H clubs in the area. Dear organizers, participants and attendees: As the MLA for Stikine I welcome all to the 95th Bulkley Valley Exhibition and congratulate organizers and volunteers for another successful year. The longevity of the Exhibition reminds us about the important agricultural roots we have in our communities and the fact that the land, if properly taken care of, provides for us year after year. The good food we can grow and produce and gather here is something that we cherish. Others in the world, facing drought, depleted soils and urban sprawl, marvel at the abundant clean water and fertile land we still have. This event is a great time to remember that farmland in Stikine and across B.C. is something that we need to protect. As one person said to me lately from a global perspective, “food is the new oil, and land is the new gold.” 95 Years of Horsing Around is a great theme that highlights the fun we have while at the BV EX. BV Exhibition Staff Message Welcome to “95 Years of Horsing Around” at the Bulkley Valley Exhibition. This year our volunteers have been working extra hard to bring you the best show in the north. Our Division Coordinators and their committees work all year planning each division and show. A lot of hard work goes into making this community event enjoyable for people of all ages. We would like to thank the community and surrounding areas for their continued support over the last “95 Years”. This year we hope you will plan to stay at the Exhibition into the evening and enjoy the great line up of entertainment we have scheduled. This year our
feature performances are: The Fab Fourever – A Beatles tribute band, Aaron Pritchett, and the Chris Buck Band. We also have many local entertainers scheduled this year which makes the Claude Dohler Stage the place to be! Many of the traditional favorites are back and are the heart of the BV Exhibition. Our agricultural exhibits in the hall feature a wide range of homemade and handmade goodies. The Smithers Rodeo Club is back again with their Bull-a-rama and BCRA Rodeo. Our Livestock, Light Horse, 4-H, and Draft Horse shows are a longtime tradition. Back this year, and better than ever, is our Loggers Sports events.
Children, men, and women can compete in various categories. There will also be some demonstration events that are new this year. Don’t miss the return of our Loggers Sports on Saturday August 23 registration starts at 10:30 a.m. Our many sponsors and funders, local, provincial and national, individual and corporate, continue to support the BV Exhibition each year with their financial, in-kind sponsorships and grants. Your gate admission is your ticket to great entertainment on the Claude Dohler Stage. Kicking the weekend off on Thursday night is The Fab Fourever, a tribute to the Beatles. Don’t miss Friday night when The Johnson Brothers open for country superstar Aaron Pritchett. Saturday is a day of non-stop local entertainment all day long ending with The Chris Buck Band. Great kids’ entertainment includes: Music with Marnie, Wes Barker–Comedy-Magic Show, Kiddies Pedal Tractor Pull, Magic Bean Show, Bucky the Mascot, and our new Stilts Man. Come
check out our stage improvements and dance, sing, and laugh the day & night away! Our Family Zone and Petting Zoo have moved to a bigger and better location with more family fun than ever including the new Family Stage. Come on over to the Zone and enjoy family fun together! There will be a Parade of Champions of the top Livestock winners Saturday at 1 p.m. followed by the 4-H auction. Daybreak Farms is sponsoring the Egg Toss in the Livestock area. Teams toss an egg back and forth; the last team standing wins $100. The kids’ dog show has been relocated to the Family Zone on Sunday to allow the kids and their adorable pets more room and space. Look for the show to begin at 2 p.m. on Sunday near the
family stage. “Bucky” our new mascot will be on the grounds to welcome our guests. Look for him to meet and greet with the kids in the Family Zone all weekend long! New this year, coming all the way from Vanderhoof, B.C. doing shows is The Northern Country Girls Drill Team. They are a group of riders who do a choreographed routine on horseback and includes each rider carrying their sponsor’s flag. There are two chances to see the show; Saturday in the rodeo arena at 3 p.m. and Sunday in the Main Horse Ring at 12 p.m. Please come out and support this truly unique community event and help celebrate 95 Years of Horsing Around. Fall Fair Parade - Wednesday, Aug. 21, 7 p.m. The theme this year is 95 Years of Horsing Around. The parade travels down Main Street starting at the traffic circle in front of the Provincial Government Building, turns left on 8th St. and ends just past the BV District Hospital in the church parking lot at the corner of 8th Ave. and Columbia Dr. The entrance fee for adults or clubs is $10. Children up to 12 years old are free. Enter by Tuesday, Aug. 19. Entry forms can be downloaded from the Exhibition’s website, www. bvfair.ca or picked up at Remax Smithers, 250-847-5999, or at the Fair Office, 250-847-3816. Judging will take place throughout the duration of the parade in categories for Best Commercial, Best Organization, Best Band/ Marching, Best Horse-Drawn, Best Tractor, Best Youth Entry, Best Youth Bicycle, with prizes for all youth categories. Placing will be announced at the Exhibition.

100 Years of 4-H in B.C. The Bulkley Valley 4-H District is made up of four clubs; Quick Community, Evelyn 4-H, Topley and the newest club to our area; Mid Valley. The 4-H program provides young people with an opportunity to learn how to become productive, self-assured adults who can make their community and country a good place in which to live. This is fostered through project and program work, experiences with their 4-H club members and leaders and their participation in district, regional and even provincial
programs. The goal of the 4-H program is youth development. The objectives of 4-H clubs are knowledge, leadership, citizenship and personal development. 4-H stands for head, heart, hands and health. As a 4-Her, you can have the feeling of accomplishment that comes from trying and succeeding at something new– whether it’s fixing a small engine, knitting a sweater, training an animal or presenting a speech or demonstration to an audience. Opportunities include various provincial and regional programs that members can attend to visit new places and make new friends! Senior 4-H members can also

apply for scholarships and earn External Credits for Grade 11 and 12. See what kind of opportunities 4-H can offer you today! Rodeo
Shine up your boots and dust off the cowboy hat! It’s Rodeo time at the BV Exhibition 2014. Smithers Rodeo Club and the BV Exhibition bring back the action packed BCRA Rodeo and Bull-a-Rama Aug. 2123. We start off the Rodeo lineup with the ever popular Bull-a-Rama on Thursday evening at 6 p.m. In this show it’s all bulls, cowboys and pure adrenaline! The cowboys are vying for a $2,500 added purse sponsored by Shooting Star Amusements and the Smithers Rodeo Club. C+ Stock Contractors supply the bulls that each bullrider will attempt to ride the full eight seconds on not one, but two head during the two and a half hour performance. The high combined score will be the 2014 SRC Bull-a-Rama Champion. For your half-time entertainment this year in all three rodeo performances we have booked seven-time National Finals Rodeo performer, Niki Flundra

and her liberty horse act Unbridled. Niki has entertained crowds at the Calgary Stampede, Houston Stock Show and Rodeo, Canadian Rodeo Finals among hundreds of rodeos and exhibitions across the U.S. and Canada. You will be amazed at her horsemanship and the partnership with her horses. Friday and Saturday evening performances start at 5 p.m. and are the BC Rodeo Association sanctioned events offering a full lineup of Saddle Bronc, Bareback, Steer Wrestling, Team Roping, Breakaway Roping, Tie-down Roping, Ladies Barrels and Bull Riding for the adult competitors. We have added two brand new events to the Smithers Rodeo this year for the juniors; Jr. Breakaway Roping and Peewee Barrels (10 years and under) to add to their lineup of Jr. Steer Riding and Jr. Barrels. Wait, there’s more! Also on for all three performances is the Wild Horse Race sanctioned by the Canadian Wild Horse Race Association, expect to see some local boys competing in this event as well as teams from across B.C. and Alberta. The Wild Cow Milking will be on Friday and Saturday showcasing local businesses and teams of three trying desperately to get that elusive drop of milk into the pop bottle. Our shows would not be complete without our announcer, Jay Savage, back for another year; keeping everyone informed and involved.
Jayson Charters from Merritt joins us this year as our Rodeo clown; he’ll be bringing lots of laughs and great skits for your entertainment. Draft Horse The Draft Horse Show starts All

The main event in the afternoon is the Single Horse Pull to see which single draft horse can pull the most weight. This will be followed by a new performance by the Northern Country Girls Drill Team from Vanderhoof. The Teamster Competition starts off the program on Sunday, Aug. 25 at 8:30 a.m.

We’re always looking for young “future loggers” who want to try out their skills with the tools of the trade. Future Loggers compete in two age groups, 5-8 years and 9-12 years at Nail Drive, Choker Race and our ever-popular Rolling Pin Throw. Register at 10:30 a.m. for Women’s and Men’s events. The women’s events follow with the Rolling Pin Throw, Nail Drive, Choker Races, Axe Throw (a real crowd pleaser), Single-woman Cross Cut, and Double-woman Cross Cut. On the Stage Headliners Chris Buck Band
Chris Buck is well-known for his Reggae/Country style and energetic stage presence. Chris’ band is made up of a group of guys in their 20s: Phil Puxley, Jordan Pritchett, Seamus O’Neill and Michael Vanderlans. The boys have played every major country festival/venue in B.C. and many other parts of Canada within the last two years. After playing at the Merritt Mountain Music Fest (where he was called “one of the highlights of the festival,” by Gabby’s Country Cabaret). Chris Buck has quickly become one of the busiest country performers on the west coast, playing close to 150 shows this past year. Chris was also nominated for the Ray McCauley Horizon Award at the BCCMA’s for New Artist in 2012 and won the 2013 CCMA Jiffy Lube Fanfest contest to represent B.C. at the CCMA awards. Even with his busy performing
schedule Chris has always made time to focus on his original music. His first song he recorded, Okay, had great success and was played on over 38 stations across Canada in its first two weeks. Chris just finished his CD with awardwinning producer Tom McKillip (Aaron Pritchett, One More girl) and is excited to release his new single/album/video in 2014.
The Fab Fourever
Yes, on Aug. 21, The Beatles are coming to BV Exhibition, Smithers!!! Well not the real Beatles of course, but the next best thing. The Fab Fourever features the talents of four musicians, plus an amazing keyboardist for accompanying parts. Featured as John is Kevin Davey, supported by Jody Tennant, who plays Paul, with Charles Boname as George, Paul Kaszonyi adding the driving rhythm force, Ringo, and Blake Mackay on keyboards. “It’s like going back in time” says Tennant, who wasn’t even born when the Beatles were together as a musical
quartet, “In the show we’re planning we want to structure our show so that the audience sees the full timeline of the early material that made the Beatles a world name.” Foremost, the lads in The Fab Fourever are Beatles fans! Without question, that appreciation of the music translates into an infectious passion and energy onstage! Aaron Pritchett Canadian, born and bred, Aaron Pritchett, has proven himself to be one of the hardest working and sought after artists in the business. With numerous top hits, music videos, tours with Alan Jackson, Toby Keith and Brooks & Dunn, Aaron has gained a significant following across Canada. Over his career he has earned many accolades and awards, including a CCMA for Independent Male Artist of the Year and Songwriter of the Year in 2007 for the anthem, Hold My Beer. His passion and intensity on stage, coupled with his unwavering dedication to fans, sets him apart from other acts and has helped solidify his success. Growing up in small-town Northern B.C., Aaron drew his earliest musical influences from 80s Rock, but the transition to country music came naturally, “It was based on being able to relate to the stories that country songs told. Those stories were a lot like mine. I was going fishing, camping, and riding buses to hockey tournaments in even smaller towns than my own, life was a lot more country than rock and roll. That down-home feel that resonated with me is what I strive to convey in my music today.” Still there is no doubt that his 80s rock roots have had a major influence on Aaron’s performances. All that headbanging he did as a kid shines through when he whips a stadium full of chanting fans into a frenzy while hammering out Hold My Beer or Let’s Get Rowdy. All of this paired with Aaron’s passion and drive to keep playing has created one of the most exciting shows in the country music industry.

Raised in Maple Ridge, B.C., The Johnson Brothers (Brett and Trent) have proven to be one of the hardest working bands in the province. Born the grandsons of CCMA Hall of Fame Member, Elmer Tippe and nephews to CCMA & BCCMA award winner Rick Tippe, the brothers were destined to tackle the country music industry. Their passion for music and high energy stage show have caught the attention of music lovers and has helped set the brothers apart from other acts in the province. Over the past twelve years, the band has taken the stage at many clubs, festivals, and fairs, having shared the stage opening for some of country music’s top artists that include, Dierks Bentley, Chris Young, Charlie Daniels, Dallas Smith, Johnny Reid, Gord Bamford,

Looking Back in Time: in the Johnstone and Davidson Halls. The category this year is “Old Cameras.” 2014 BC Association of Agricultural Fairs & Exhibitions: in the Johnstone and Davidson Halls. Four categories for Fabric Table Runners, Colour Photography, Hand-painted Terra Cotta Pots and 4-H Clubs and Educational Displays to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of 4-H in B.C. Winners move on to the Provincial Competition in October! Scarecrow Contest: Throughout the grounds. Two categories of Youth and Adult entries. Check out all the designs throughout the weekend. Stall Decorating: Various stalls. Exhibitors are encouraged to decorated their stalls for educational and interest purposes. Wander through and check out what they’ve done. Themed Competitions: Downtown and throughout the grounds. Businesses are encouraged to decorate their downtown location, or may choose a hay bale set up at the grounds. On the grounds there will also be displays of 3’x3’ artwork and larger murals for artists of all experience levels to display their talent. Women’s Institute Competition 2014 Bulkley Tweedsmuir WI: in the Johnstone and Davidson Halls. With categories ranging from Essays to Smocking. Various groups compete for the Dr. L.M. Greene Perpetual Trophy. Kids’ Dog Show: in the Family Zone on Sunday afternoon. With many categories including Best Dressed Handlers to Most Unusual Dog it’s sure to be fun for participants and spectators. Shooting Star Amusements Competitions: in the Johnstone and Davidson Halls. Categories for up to the age of 17. Create a memory box in the fair theme, decorate a Carousel Horse, colour the picture from the website or create a Carnival Game or Food Booth in a shoebox. Find out how creative the kids have been. Family Zone Hours: Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Sunday 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. This year the BV Exhibition is featuring some exciting shows and activities in the Family Zone! Don’t miss our popular family stage back again this year! The Moricetown, Smithers & Telkwa Early Childhood Development Committee is sponsoring the Family Zone activities for families with children 0-6 years old. The Activity Tent will contain various fun things for children to do. Come and create a structure with the different size blocks in the Block Tent. The Parenting Tent is where families can go to take a break or look after their children’s needs. Our interactive farm-to-table display is back again this year. Children can pick apples, dig for potatoes, and gather eggs. Lots of family fun can be found in the Family Zone this year at the BV Exhibition. The Kids’ Pedal Tractor pull was so much fun last year it’s back again this year. Starting Friday, Aug. 22 and running all weekend, kids can test their abilities with kid against machine. This is a big hit with kids of all ages where they become the stars of the show! For those interested in fun, interactive and entertaining learning, The Magic Bean is a fun Agriculture Magic show offering a blend of illusion
and education. From the farm to the kitchen is the theme to allow kids an understanding and importance of farm life. This magic show starts also on Friday, Aug. 22 and runs all weekend. Our ever-popular Petting Zoo is back again and runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21 – Sunday, Aug. 24. The Petting Zoo offers children of all ages the opportunity to get up close and personal with rabbits, goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, guinea pigs, a donkey, a calf, and ponies. Pony rides and pony cart rides are offered all weekend for the smaller children. Our new Petting Zoo location can be found behind the exhibit halls and across from the rodeo arena. It is nicely fenced in and provides parents the opportunity to sit and relax while their children visit with their favourite farm animals. Hand washing stations are located at the two entrance/exit gates and visitors are asked to use the hand wash stations as they enter and exit the Petting Zoo. Don’t miss the Petting Zoo; you never know what the animals may be up to! Don’t miss a visit from “Bucky,” our new mascot. Northern Country Girls Drill Team New this year, coming all the way from Vanderhoof, B.C. doing shows, is The Northern Country Girls Drill Team. They are a group of riders who do a choreographed routine on horseback and includes each rider carrying their sponsor’s flag. This is their second year together, last season they performed at
Vanderhoof Rodeo, Equine Fair, PG Fair, Vanderhoof Fall Fair, and Burns Lake Fair. So far this year they have performed at the Vanderhoof Rodeo and May Days in Houston. They will also be at the PG Fair, Vanderhoof Fair, and Bulkley Valley Exhibition! Being on a drill team takes a lot of commitment and dedication, along

Trainer of the North Challenge The Challenge is back for the fifth year and we are excited to showcase the trainers talents. This year we have a trainer from the USA as well as two trainers from previous years. Severin Pederson Severin grew up working on a horse ranch, and has always had a great passion for horses. As a young man he competed in many Rodeo events including Roping Steer Wrestling. He won many All Around Championships in 1992, the Junior World Timed Event Champion and the 1993 Arkansas High School Steer Wrestling Champion. He won a full scholarship through Rodeo to Odessa College in Texas. Severin is an up-and-coming gifted horse trainer. His lifelong quest for horse knowledge brought him to Doug Mills who introduced him to Natural Horsemanship, giving him the extra edge. He continues to take clinics to develop his skills. Severin has competed in many Trainers’ Challenges including the 2011 and 2012 at the BV Exhibition as well as 2010 and 2011 at the Rafter G Challenge in Fort St John. He put in solid performances in them all and is a crowd favourite. He built his own program based on timed release and building
ahead. The horses are from a local horse farm Just Wishin’ Quarterhorses in Houston. We hope they will be able to provide us with horses for the next few years. The Trainers are competing against each other to showcase their ability to train
a horse in a very short amount of time in front of an audience while teaching the audience as well. This is not a simple task, and we applaud their efforts. Keeping in mind that the training is mostly about the horse and its ability to be taught in such a short time frame.

a solid foundation. A lifetime of experience has made him efficient, sharp, firm and yet compassionate. The Pederson Family owns and operates the Bera Creek Ranch in Black Creek, B.C. Gerry Cox Gerry is a 59-year-old horseman originally out of Anchorage, Alaska. Gerry and his wife, Kathleen, own and have been operating a boarding and training facility in Colville, Washington near Spokane for over ten years. Gerry has won or placed in several Team Roping, Reining and Extreme Trail Events and he has studied and ridden with several World-class Horsemen including: Chris Cox, Al Dunning and Craig Cameron. Gerry placed third in two consecutive Extreme Mustang Makeover events. This is Gerry’s first colt starting competition. Gerry has started over 400 horses in his lifetime and starts about 25 horses every year. He also puts on riding clinics at their facility throughout the spring and summer months.
Gerry dedicates his ride to his deceased son, Derek Lee Cox, who passed away 14 years ago. Sarah Newman Sarah was born and raised on a small Kamloops ranch surrounded by horses. Sarah began riding before she could walk. She was very active in Little Britches Rodeo and High School Rodeo. She qualified for Canadians and Nationals all four years in all five High School Rodeo events. Sarah started working for Doug and Lynette Mills right out of high school and decided she really wanted to pursue horse training. She really loved Doug’s program and felt she could pursue her dream with this knowledge. Now she is a certified apprentice of the Training Thru Trust Program and has been training full-time for the last six years. Sarah offers lessons, clinics and training at her place in Kamloops. Sarah competed here in 2013 and put in a very good performance winning the crowd over with her horsemanship skills. We are glad to have Sarah returning.

Hall Division
With this year’s theme, 95 Years of Horsing Around, perhaps we should give a thought to the fact that 95 years ago, most of the exhibits came to the fair via “horse power.” This year’s Looking Back in Time competition will be a display of old cameras. Compare these oldies to your modern camera or phone with no worries about running out of film or flashbulbs. Check out the wonderful and colourful display of photography in the Art Room. Daybreak Eggs will be back and we look forward to their imaginative and down-to-earth demonstrations of the value of eggs to our lives. Shooting Star Amusements sponsors a competition for children of all ages and provides the prizes as well. Check out the Special Needs cookie competition in remembrance of Irene Hug who loved to bake cookies as gifts for her friends. The Women’s Institutes will again anchor the Johnstone Hall with their competitions. This group keeps the old traditions of sewing, cooking and leisure-time (early
1900s) activities as competitions with just enough modern focus to remind us that it is possible to continue these valuable practices in the 21st century. 2014 is the 100-year anniversary of 4-H in B.C. Each club can showcase their Educational Displays and other craft competitions. BC Fairs has sponsored a competition for the best 4-H Educational Display from
each fair to be judged and awarded at the Annual Convention. Check out all the competitions in Baking and Canning. Nature’s Pantry sponsors a special baking competition every year. They generously provide the unusual ingredient that you might not have on your pantry shelf. Country Fair Baking is sponsored by several national brands. This is the area where you will find the Honey competitions as well. The Davidson Hall is always an oasis of beauty and tranquility. The flowers and vegetables provide an attractive display of the gardeners’ efforts. At the other end are the magnificent quilts brought for competition. Vote for the People’s Choice. The Boys and Girls competitions occupy the center section. It is always amazing to see the creative ideas that these youngsters put into their entries. Many hours of preparation are involved in creating the exhibits – plus many hours of volunteer effort to display them attractively.

In Fond Memory of
There are many people who have made this fair what it is over its 95 year history. Look for the tributes throughout the grounds to honor them. Behind the Fair Office is the Tomayer Trail in honour of past-president Anita Tomayer who is still to be found working hard on this extraordinary event. Graeme’s Way along with the Graeme Johnstone Shed and Bench were named for Graeme Johnstone and the Johnstone Hall for his wife, Lisbeth, both active members of the Fair Board (Graeme as president) and of the BC Association of Agricultural Fairs and Exhibitions. The Davidson Hall was named for Phyllis Davidson and built with seniors in mind. These great people, who contributed so much, were able to enjoy their tributes as part of the exhibition. Claude Dohler’s Stage rings with music every year, Herb Dettwiller’s flagpole is right next to that. Not far afield, in front of the Fair Office, is Doris Stahel’s Garden, set up as a memorial the year this great volunteer passed away. Other memorials are harder to see and can’t be visited, but attest to the spirit of our community in the honour they bring. Trophies in just about every division bring names from the past alive. The Bill Kidd Memorial Trophy is given for most points in the Livestock Division. The First President’s Memorial Trophy in memory of Allen Kilpatrick is for most points all-round in the vegetables, Fruits, Flowers and Grains, Foods, Handicrafts, Boys’ and Girls’ Baking and Hobbies, Special Needs, Arts and Photography, Homemade Wine and Beer, and Textiles Divisions.
In the Beef Division the Harry Giddings Memorial Trophy is presented for Stall Decorating as well as trophies in the Junior Classes in memory of Donn Bruhjell and Joe Utz. There are trophies in memory of George Shuhyta and Mike Vandermeulen for Angus exhibitors and in memory of Lowell Davison and the Brook family for Hereford exhibitors. And of course there is Graeme Johnstone’s Bench, where, we like to think, he’s still keeping an eye on things and enjoying the show. 4-H honours the Bruhjell family with a memorial fund for showmanship, and trophies in honour of Rita Giddings, L.B. Warner, Graeme Johnstone, Paul Trobak, Dewey Cummins, and Bill and Barb Bryant are given out as well. In the Johnstone and Davidson Halls you will find the displays for many divisions. Bertha Homenuke is remembered in the vegetable division. You’ll find Irene’s Crazy Cookie Contest in memory of Irene Hug who delighted so many people over the years with her gifts of cookies. Most points in Baking, Cooking with Honey, Jams and Jellies, and Canned Goods will take home the keeper of the Vyvyan Bradford Memorial Perpetual Trophy. The Dr. L.M. Greene Perpetual Trophy will be claimed by a Women’s Institute display. The Granny Gyger Trophy goes for the most points in Knitting. In the Lighthorse Division, awards will be given in honour of Lexy Kirk in Junior and Senior Dressage, Sherry Motz for Sportsmanship, and Jerry Ridenoure for Sportsmanship in Gymkhana.
