REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (NO. 2306TA-2014) SPACE FOR TAHSIS BRANCH LIBRARY

The Vancouver Island Regional Library (the “Library�), serves approximately 415,000 residents through (39) locations within a 92,344 square kilometer area of Vancouver Island, Haida Gwaii (the Queen Charlotte Islands) and the mainland Central Coast. Further information about the Vancouver Island Regional Library is available at www.virl.bc.ca VIRL will maintain a library branch within the Tahsis Village.

The objective of this RFP is to obtain premises for the Tahsis library branch which meet the Library’s site location and facility standards. Either existing or purpose built structures will be considered. The Library’s preference is for premises located near the community center.

The Library’s preference is for proposals which contemplate that the Library may purchase the proposed premises from the respondent. The Libraries second preference is a partnership with a member jurisdiction or another public sector enterprise. The Library is, however, open to proposals which contemplate that the Library would lease the proposed space from the respondent. If a lease is proposed, the Library’s preferred initial lease term is ten (10) years.

Sealed Proposals must be received not later than 3:00 p.m. (15:00 hrs), Pacific Time, Friday August 15th, 2014. Proposals received after the “Closing Date and Time� WILL NOT be accepted and will not be considered. Late Proposals will be returned unopened to the Proponent. Proponents have the sole responsibility to deliver and ensure Proposals are time and date stamped.

GOLF Weekly Quadra Island Hotel & Business Challenge results The Quadra Island Golf Club hosted their 1st Annual Hotel & Business Challenge on Saturday July 12th. This was a nine hole event with a shotgun start at 1:30pm.

Congratulations to the Quadra Island Golf Club for their 1st place finish of minus 6, obtaining 6 birdies in a row starting at hole #3. The Heriot Bay Inn finished in 2nd place at minus 1 and the Quadra Legion in 3rd place at 3 over. The Men’s KP was won by Scott Fraser, the Ladies KP by Kim Zapshala and the Men’s closest to the tree by Pat

Manery.

The participants filled the courtyard with fun and laughter and wrapped up the event with a barbecue at the Quadra Island Golf Club.
