Gardom Lake management plan

Bilingual grads

In a recent meeting, the CSRD Board was in favour of spending up to $35,000 from the Electoral Area ‘D’ Community Works Fund to retain a consultant and develop a Lake Management Plan for Gardom Lake on the condition that the Province contribute at least a third of the cost.

Community Parks and Recreation Team Leader Marcin Pachcinski told the Board that Gardom Lake is experiencing pressures stemming from its popularity as a recreational lake, especially following the Province’s stocking of the lake with trout.

Mr. Pachcinski explained that the CSRD has been working to alleviate some of the issues associated with increased usage (parking, washroom and garbage facilities), but a management plan would be able to address the long-term issues.

The request for a Lake Management Plan came from a Gardom Lake Round Table that was organized by a local stewardship group, The Friends of Gardom Lake.

These 2013 French immersion graduates are the third group to achieve a bilingual dogwood, and the first ones to have started late immersion in Shuswap Middle School rather than South Broadview or Hillcrest.

The Notch Hill Hall’s first annual dog show on Sunday, June 30th promises to be fun for the whole family and open to all dogs from all communities. Register for the events or just come for a pet-friendly day on the grounds of the Notch Hill Hall and support a community cause.

The Shuswap Water Action Team (SWAT) has been working towards a Shuswap Watershed Board similar to the Okanagan Basin Water Board (OBWB), which was established 40 years ago to improve the water quality of the Okanagan Lake.

Cooperation between Shuswap Watershed communities is absolutely necessary because water doesn’t recognize municipal or regional boundaries.

Clean and safe water is essential to both the health and economic future of the area.

In 2011 their Regional District Directors, Municipal Mayors, First Nations, and BC Government joined together to support and authorize funding for three years for a Watershed Initiative called the Shuswap Lake Integrated Planning Process (SLIPP).

They are very pleased to report that the watershed elected leaders have now unanimously “agreed in principle” to continue support and funding for SLIPP into the future on water quality and safety issues. This is a major step forward although there are items still to be resolved, such as establishing a governance model, a source of permanent funding, and approval from respective councils and boards.

The accomplishments of SLIPP in less than three years are very significant and include: a watershed-wide water monitoring program identifying the key sources of water pollution; aerial foreshore mapping overlaid with habitat sensitivities which is available online; scientific studies on grey water and lake algae blooms; a study underway on fish habitat; a program for removal of abandoned docks; a draft watershed recreation management plan; and coordination of a boating safety, inspection, and education program.

SLIPP programs will allow mitigation based on science rather than guesswork. There are many water quality issues to address including the new threat from Zebra and Quagga mussels that could dramatically impact the area’s water and lifestyle.

By leveraging resources from all levels of government SLIPP has tripled the funding available for water quality monitoring and pollution sourcing.

Additional funding from other sources such as research grants may now be available. SLIPP has clearly proven the value and need for a Watershed Wide Organization.

Arthritis and other inflammatory conditions such as bursitis, tendonitis, joint sprains and disc herniations are common reasons people may use anti-inflammatory medications such as aspirin, ibuprofen, and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatories (NSAID’s). People take these drugs because they are effective in reducing pain and inflammation, but they also produce serious side effects when used too often or for too long. Calcium supplements

Calcium carbonate is the most common form of calcium available in the market. It is present in Tums. It is alkaline in nature and is better absorbed when there is extra stomach acid; hence it is best taken right after meals or with a glass of orange juice.

Calcium carbonate provides more elemental calcium than calcium citrate hence you may not need to take as many pills and it is better priced. Calcium carbonate usually comes in big tablets which may be hard to swallow for some people.

Calcium citrate is acidic and is the best absorbed supplemental form of calcium. It does not require extra stomach acid for absorption. It may be taken anytime of the day, even on an empty stomach. Calcium citrate usually provides less elemental calcium per pill, therefore one may need to take more pills per day to meet the needs. This form of calcium is also more expensive.

For people who suffer from stomach acidity, it is best to avoid calcium

citrate. Instead, take calcium carbonate which helps to deal with the acidity problem as well as providing appropriate calcium intake.

No matter which type of calcium you are taking, it is important to read the labels. Look for the elemental calcium and not the total content. For example, a supplement containing 1250 mg of calcium carbonate provides 500 mg of elemental calcium.

Hence this pill provides 500 mg of calcium and not 1250 mg.

Dairy products (preferably with less fat) are the best source of calcium as other nutrients found in dairy products also help in its absorption.

Are people’s dock rights respected?

Mr. Pat Tobin, maybe you are not aware of the laws of Canada. If you would take the time to read the Criminal Code of Canada, section 35, Defense of Property, it explains how one’s property can be held under a “claim of right.”

So all that is required to have a dock lawfully is to hold it under a claim of right.

If docks as you say are illegal or unlawful how can you sell someone a permit to break the law? If they are lawful, as we know they are, why would they need a permit?

Everyone has the right to use their property without having to pay for the use or enjoyment of it.

Canada is a common law jurisdiction and the lawful form of government is a representative one, and representation requires mutual consent.

You state that the Land Act is one of the most powerful pieces of B.C. legislation.

Blacks Law Dictionary says a statute is “a legislative rule of society given the force of law by the consent of the governed, a rule as of a corporation.”

It has the force of law by the consent of the governed; it is not the law.

“A rule of a corporation:” corporations are legal fictions and require contracts in order to claim authority or control over other parties.

The province of B.C. is a corporation, in which case you would have to have a contract in place with each dock holder to have authority over them, and I am sure that is not the case. A contract must be entered into

voluntarily and have full disclosure, or it is null and void.

You state that “only true waterfront owners are permitted to have docks on the Shuswap Lake. People living across a road or railway line from the beach may not have a dock, but are permitted to have a buoy.”

Could you direct me to the law that states this, as I have read in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms that we are all equal.

To me that would suggest that they [the people not living on the lake] would have just as much right to have a dock and a buoy on the lake if they so desired. Who has the authority to tell them otherwise? Maybe you could let me know as I would like to meet this all-powerful person. I think you must be confusing your policies with the law.

You also state that “administrative penalties go as high as $1000. And when we’ve had our bluff called, we typically go to $1000.” These actions are more like a dictatorship than a democracy. I think that is all you have is intimidation, harassment and bluff as there is no standing in common law for what you do. This sounds to me like you have no respect for people’s rights or for the rule of law.

In a final note, it seems odd to me that so much money can be found for frivolous programs as this, yet we still have long waiting lists for people needing medical attention due to a lack of funding.

It is time to stop the insanity.

Cayse left from Tofino, on the west coast of Canada, and plans to bike to St. John’s, Nfld, on the east coast. After spending five years at McGill and then teaching physical and health education, he has friends all across the country.

His team in Toronto is arranging his stops. In Salmon Arm he welcomed a place for the night from a stranger.

WALMART PLANS TO OPEN THIS FALL

TWO MALE CHOIRS ENTERTAINED SALMON ARM

Shuswap Men’s Chorus, pictured above, and the Vancouver Orpheus Male Choir entertained a full house at Cornerstone Christian Reformed Church on June 7. The 28 members of the former and 32 from the latter joined in several selections as a massed choir twice in the program. Their voices shook the church I am sure, and required the turning down of hearing aids.

Younger members of the 44-member Vancouver choir were unable to take time off work for this six-community tour. Each time the massed choir bowed at the Salmon Arm concert, the heads were either bald or white.

The singing was exceptional! I especially enjoyed Sixteen Tons and Danny Boy by the massed choir, and The Orpheus’ rendition of Rita MacNeil’s Working Man.

Walmart is migrating to an online application process for all its stores. I googled: Walmart Canada application, and printed a form. I also left a request on a Walmart website giving my name, email address and that I want to be greeter in the Salmon Arm, BC store when it opens this fall.

I went to www.walmartcanada.ca/careers, which was given to me by a Vernon greeter, and saw that the Salmon Arm store shows up on its radar but no jobs have been posted as yet.

One greeter told me that to get a job, it helps if you know someone who works at Walmart. Who is the greeter in the Vernon store who recognized me from my column which she reads every week? May I use you as a reference? Write me at sallys1@telus.net.

BIKING ACROSS CANADA FOR ORGAN DONATIONS

After I heard on CTV news about a young man biking across Canada, urging people to get on an organ donor registry, I offered him a place for the night when he reached Salmon Arm. Google and I found his team in Toronto through a website. I have been urging people to get on the organ donor registry for 20 years by putting information in every will kit that is sold through Lakeshore News. ($12 per kit) Cayse Ruiter, 26, of Toronto, lost a good friend from McGill who died while waiting for a heart transplant. He said 4,000 Canadians are waiting for a transplant. In Canada, 21 per cent of the population is on the organ donor registry;

Routes and Blues has dates for community suppers and entertainment before the Roots & Blues Festival. Last year I enjoyed supper at most of the communities, and published a picture of the cooks from almost all.

This year the outdoor adventure in each community will be held in the morning rather than afternoon, in order to give visitors more time to explore the areas before supper at 6.

PLUMBING & PIPING TRADES PROGRAM STARTS AUG. 6

Up to 20 students will learn valuable piping trades at Okanagan College in the Salmon Arm industrial park starting August 6.

Four trades will be taught: plumber, gasfitter, steamfitter/pipefitter, and sprinkler system installer. Work is available all over B.C., and in the north demand for experienced trades people is going through the roof. There is big demand in commer-

cial and industrial projects. Rob Kjarsgaard, Program Administrator for trades and apprenticeship at Okanagan College, says experienced piping trades people can make up to $500 per day.

The 24-week program is delivered in Salmon Arm and provides level one technical training credit towards an apprenticeship in the piping trades.

Secondary students may receive tuition funding and dual credit. Tuition funding may be also available for Labour Market Agreement eligible applicants.

SCHOOL DISTRICT HAS OVER 100 STUDENTS IN TUITION-FREE TRADES TRAINING PROGRAMS

Many high school students are learning a trade as well as classroom studies which will enable them to get a diploma at the end of grade 12. At Salmon Arm Senior Secondary these dual-credit programs are Motorcycle and Power Equipment Technician and Automotive Service Technician.

This semester, the district is also running Professional Cook 1, Automotive Collision and Hair Design.

Students are also on campus at Thompson Rivers University and Okanagan College, taking trades programs tuition-free, such as heavy-duty mechanics and electrical.

Mark Marino, District Career Supervisor for North Okanagan-Shuswap, says there are also over 50 students registered as Secondary School Apprentices. They are attaining valuable work-based hours towards their apprenticeship while they are still in high school.

Curled up and still in the tall grass, the near-newborn heifer calf looked up as I approached. Tiny crusted brown flakes on her pink nose indicated that she hadn’t suckled her mom’s milk in two days or more. Calling Harry, my helper, over, we gathered her up, heading for the Department of Highways sign truck, as way down below at the Flying 20 Ranch, a lone cow bawled out mournfully for her calf.

It’s been 25 years or more, since then, as we zoomed past two weeks ago, heading for Pike Mountain to the west, and hoping for some mighty fine fishing at Goose, Lodwick, and Thalia Lakes.

Mom cows distinctly know their own calves, and in this case, rotted posts and a leaning fence put the large herd of Herefords uphill, to graze along the highway. Cowboys dallied up the bunch, but the little one remained.

When we stopped at the ranch house, the foreman came out. We told him we had a hostage, as we dropped the tailgate of the truck. The wobbly-legged little red and white bundle was soon with Mom, nursing hungrily in the big corral, with many other calves and moms.

It’s still ranching country, with a green grassy rolling landscape, and a sweeping background of fir and aspen trees up to mountain tops, and the glint of shimmering troutfilled lakes, hidden in the hills. Cowboys on horseback herding cows, collie dogs nipping at the cows’ heels.

An angler’s paradise, thanks to the Freshwater Fisheries Society and the steady stocking of the 127 lakes in the Nicola and Princeton region. My take on the situation, what with building a home and residing at the Kane Valley turn-off to Harmon, Kane, Chicken Ranch; with Corbett, Lundbum, and Courtney just down the highway, years ago, is the pressure for angling opportunity in all the immediate lakes is immense, and increasing. Within a three hour drive, a large retiring population of seniors, avid young anglers, your average family camper, angler, and dirt bike

enthusiasts, are looking for new digs, lakes, and camping spots, to get away from it all; and for years now, the Nicola/ Merritt area is the place to be.

We too, have nice lakes to fish, but increasingly, we must adhere to today’s angling ethics and regulations. Even catch and release, if we wish to sustain a viable trout fishery for all to enjoy.

After all, we have come a long way in our hunting/angling lives, and if it feels a bit crowded at the local or visited lake, we have to share the resource and continue to encourage others to do the same. The lakes will always be there. To shimmer brightly in morning light, as too, the rolling hills will gather morning dew.

We will grow older, for we are here for just a minute in time.

Anglers are still out on Shuswap Lake. Use bucktails/Apex. Monte is fishing fairly well on kokanee. Remember, too, it’s not how many trout you can catch, but the total outdoor experience. Tip: Big rainbows cruise the shallows in late evening.

We slowly trolled tiny frog/perch/silver flatfish late at night, with great success. Some insect hatches occur at dusk/dark. Take some of your key patterns, and with a fine point brush, dab the tips of the flies with a glow-inthe-dark paint. Paint them 24 hrs before use.

Also, spend five minutes shining a light beam onto the flies in a box, allowing them to absorb the light energy.

Coyotes are opportunists, and will grab cats or small dogs, as happened in Vernon recently. Just be cognisant of the fact that we have wildlife all around us, and they have adapted to urban living.

Kimberly, Marysville, and Invermere are starting a new program in hazing deer from town, using trained collie dogs who will continually harass the critters out of town. Cougars: fortunately we haven’t had too many sightings recently.

Tired of standing in long line-ups when you pay your Property Taxes?

Here are some options to eliminate waiting in line: Post-Dated Cheques - You can pay your City of Salmon Arm property taxes and utilities with a personalized cheque post-dated to the due date.

This allows City staff time to check your payment and Home Owner Grant, if applicable, and to contact you prior to the due date if there are any problems or questions. Your post-dated payment is deposited to the Bank on the cheque date.

Telephone & Internet Banking - Most financial institutions accept utility and property tax payments through telephone and internet banking.

Although each bank differs, they all provide a Property Tax and a Utility option for the City of Salmon Arm: For property taxes, use the Property Tax option and the last eight digits of the roll number (e.g. 09999999) which is printed at the top right hand corner of your tax notice. To pay utilities, use the City of Salmon Arm Utilities option, and use the thirteen digit account number from your utility bill. (e.g. 0000999900000). Use no spaces, decimals, or dashes in the account number.

Payment Drop Box - There is a payment drop box located to the left of the front doors of the City Hall. Place your cheque and/or Home Owner Grant in an envelope and drop it in the box. Your payment will be processed promptly each morning (Monday to Friday). Any payments put into the drop box after 5:00 pm on July 2, 2013, will be considered next day payment and subject to penalty.

Your Mortgagee (Bank) Pays Your Taxes - If your Mortgagee pays your taxes and you are eligible for a Home Owner Grant, avoid a penalty by claiming your Grant as soon as you receive your tax notice.

To avoid line ups or penalties associated with problems with your Home Owner Grant, remit your Grant application to the City as soon as you receive your tax notice. Don’t wait until the tax due date! If you are unable to pay your property taxes, you should still claim your Home Owner Grant on or before the due date to avoid penalty on the Grant portion of your taxes.

When I was a member of the school board, they never invited me to address the graduating class. Here’s why. I tell it like it is. So, kids, listen up. You’re not going to hear this anywhere else.

For those of you planning to go to university: beware: a degree no longer guarantees you a job. You may even find yourself unemployed or underemployed with a graduate degree in the arts or social sciences.

Many university graduates are finding that they have to go back to the technical institutes and colleges for the practical skills they need to find employment. Save time.

Start there.

Choose your technology or career training program carefully.

Technologies change so rapidly that schools have a hard time keeping up.

Check the Internet to find out what’s going on in the field before you sign up. Any training in biotechnology will likely land a good job. What’s more, our aging population makes any serious training in the medical or health care fields a safe bet for lifelong employment. But don’t expect to emerge from classes as an expert on anything.

Ninety per cent of the skills you’ll need you will learn on the job.

Investigate internet training. You may not have to spend months or years at a college or university. Many educational institutions offer courses over the internet

to plump up their enrollments for government financing. No one cares if you don’t attend classes as long as your ticket comes from a reputable school and you can speak and write intelligently.

If you don’t want to go on to college, take an entry level job in any successful business and learn everything you can about it. Then apply for a management position or start a similar business on your own. Not only do you get to be boss, but if you work hard and your business is successful you’ll also be able to employ people who will help you expand and make even more money.

In case you haven’t noticed, all the really rich people are people who own successful businesses.

Learn everything you can about money and investments. This is the one subject that that most people don’t learn enough about. If I were 18, I’d look for an entry-level job at a bank, credit union, or investment company.

Wear decent clothes.

People judge you by what you wear. If you look like a weirdo, folks will treat you like one. If you dress like a preppie, they’ll treat you like a young man or woman they can trust with one of those entry-level jobs.

And in case no one’s told you, most employers look askance at tattoos and body-piercing jewelry. They project the image that you are irre-

sponsible.

Ask for advice. You’ll be surprised how much your parents and grandparents know about things. Better yet, they’ll be pleased when you ask for their guidance. Just don’t ask them do it for you. And never ask for money. Ask for work.

The money will follow.

Be skeptical: People believe all sorts of stupid things, particularly when it comes to the environment. Never accept what you read or see on TV at face value. Follow the money. Remember that organizations like Greenpeace are big businesses that have to bring in millions of dollars in donations each month to pay their many employees. Ask who stands to profit from the green campaign. Ask who’s applying for a government grant to save the endangered species. Be especially skeptical of the global warming-cum-climate–change hysteria.

Beware of people who want more “government money”: The government has no money of its own. It only has the money it collects from you in taxes. When people demand more government services or public employees demand higher pay, remember that they’re asking you to dig into your pocket and give them YOUR hard-earned cash. Remember, too, that most Canadians don’t understand this.

Your share of this inescapable debt is at least $150,000, so you will pay almost half of every dollar you earn in taxes, many of them hidden.

Reduce big government: When I was your age, government was small and unobtrusive and left most of my paycheck in my pocket.

Since then our federal, provincial, and municipal governments have expanded like cancer into almost every aspect of Canadian life. Support any initiative that restricts, reduces, or privatizes government services.

Be prepared to pay for medical services: Our already-overburdened, tax-supported “free” universal medical system will begin to collapse in 10 years when the Baby Boomers start showing up in hospitals big time. Many of the Boomers have plenty of money and won’t hesitate to spend it on medical treatment Support any government that has the courage to introduce user-pay medical initiatives.

cope with suicidal extremists armed with box cutters; it’s quite another to cope with fanatics armed with nuclear weapons from rogue states like Iran and North Korea. Be prepared for tighter security, including a national identity card that keeps tracks of your purchases as well as your whereabouts.

Start a family: the second big problem you’ll face is demographic. Canadian couples are having an average of only 1.6 children, which means that the population will soon begin to decline unless we take in hundreds of thousands of new immigrants each year. If you want the country to be recognizable when you apply for your Old Age Pension, you’d better get married and have two or three kids. This is a good idea because big families provide lifelong engagement. Better yet, lots of grandchildren will make your parents happy.

Members of the Barbershop Harmony Society are active supporters of Youth in Harmony and hold contests for Collegiate Choruses and Quartets as well as a Youth Chorus Festival, during their Mid-Winter Convention which is held annually at the end of January. Lately, several Collegiate Quartets have gone on to win Gold at the Society’s annual International Contests. The members of the Barbershop Harmony Society are the major supporters of Sing Canada Harmony, a non-profit association that is dedicated to “Get Canada Singing Again”!

Sing Canada Harmony makes funding available for singing scholarships as well as scholarships for those youth that attend the Youth Chorus Festivals.

Harmony International, the American equivalent, supplies the funding for two nights accommodation at the Youth Chorus Festivals, where as many as 600 young men will “strut their stuff” in the Barbershop style.

Rose Sabulka

passed away June 20, 2013 in Salmon Arm, B.C. Born on August 22, 1921, Rose was predeceased by husband, Nic. Rose is survived by sister, Doris and family of Nanaimo, and sister-in-laws Vicky and Soo-Nam and families of Edmonton. Rose was loved by all that met and cared for her. Thanks to all the staff of Piccadilly Centre in Salmon Arm and special thanks to Curtis and Donna who brought much joy and love to her life in the short time they knew her. Rose will be joining Nic in Edmonton at the Evergreen Memorial Gardens.

Edward Charles “Ed” Brophy Feb. 3, 1938 – April 14, 2013 Ed passed away April 13, 2013 in Kelowna General Hospital shortly after his 75th birthday. Ed is survived by his golfing family at Club Shuswap and relatives at Vanderhoof, throughout western Canada and in South Dakota. A celebration of Ed’s life will be held at Club Shuswap in Canoe on Thursday, July 4 at 11 a.m. with Norm Russell and Gloria Makey officiating.

Roxanne Marie Boyd (nee Emery)

March 27, 1944 – June 20, 2013 Roxanne was born on March 27, 1944 at Lethbridge, Alberta and passed away on June 20, 2013 at Parkview Place, Enderby, at the age of 69 years.

She was predeceased by her father and step mother Bill and Jean Emery, her mother and step father Esther and Peter Kouwenhoven and stepsisters Sheila Northey and Judy Kouwenhoven. Roxanne is survived by her loving husband of almost 51 years Bob, brother Bill (Gail) Emery, children Rob (Carol), Rick (Tammy) and Tracy (Ken) Therden, seven grandchildren Christin, Reggie, Katie, Tiffani, Calsie, Cody and Dawson as well as three great grandchildren Reece, Brodee and Gus. She loved to cook, spending many years catering around the Okanagan as well as her gardens, especially her flowers.

JAY BOPPRE

October 31, 1953 - June 14, 2013 Jay Boppre, aka J-Bird, a Shuswap Lake local legend, flew the coop early on Friday, June 14, 2013. Jay will be remembered always for his wild laughter, crispy deep tan, his 70’s style summer shorts and his immaculately clean pick up truck.

Jay was predeceased by his beloved Mother and Father; Leonard (Tyke) and Lucille Boppre and his 2nd Mom Joy Neilly. Jay was born in Calgary but raised in the Shuswap lake area where he remained and built a life surrounded by family, friends, community and sunshine.

Along with his love, Michelle Neilly, Jay raised his two active children, Kyle and Danielle, to love and respect Shuswap Lake and the mountains surrounding it as much as he did.

Jay often took them snowmobiling up Crowfoot Mountain and summertime was spent navigating the Shuswap waters in “Dad’s” boat.

Jay worked many years managing the Shuswap Provincial Campground in Scotch Creek and took great pride in making the large lawns greener than green, while working on his fabulous tan. He was an avid scuba diver and eventually turned this passion into his local “Swimmin’ the Shuswap” business, which he also took great pride in. Jay accumulated many work rags in his years at Captain’s Village Marina.

“The Bird” dedicated much of his free time to his community earning himself the award of Citizen of the Year for the North Shuswap Community Association! Jay was one of the founding members of the Crowfoot Mountain Snowmobile Club and was also Chief of the Scotch Creek/Lee Creek Volunteer Fire Department for many years.

Jay was a playful and energetic man with a mischievous sense of humour. He loved a good joke and when he laughed, people couldn’t help but laugh with him. He had a quiet gentle side that was appreciated by his 4-legged critters. He was often accompanied by a furry companion or had one waiting for him to return home to fire up the BBQ! Jay’s love of family and friends was profound. He loved life. He loved a good party and a great BBQ. Jay Bird, Cranky Pants, JAY!, The Bird Man, Father Time, ‘ol Man Winter, and Papa Jay were a few of his endeared nicknames.

He will be forever missed by his Shuswap Lake friends. He will be deeply missed by Kyle (son), his 3 “Little Ladies”, Danielle (Dan), Jaelynn (granddaughter), Taylor (daughter), and Rya (grandson), Mark (brother), his true love Michelle, Debbie (Taylor’s Mom), his many inlaws: Lynda (Greg), Mark (Carin), Keenan (Mo), Ed and his closest nieces and nephews, Alysha, Tarah, Karla, Eric, Jennifer, and Mason. Jay’s best furry friend Thor will never howl the same without him.

We would like to extend a huge thank you to Dora MacQuarrie, Mark and Angie Lagore, the staff at Overlander, Ponderosa, and Polsen extended care facilities and the hospice staff for their kind support and hard work taking care of Jay. Jay was gently assisted in his last days by the professional and compassionate staff at Marjorie Willoughby Hospice in Kamloops, BC. In loving memory of Jay Boppre, a sun loving shrub will be planted in the gardens at Marjorie Willoughby Hospice.

A Celebration of Jay’s life will be held on July 6th, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the North Shuswap Community Hall. All friends and family are welcome to a reception at the hall after the service.
