CUSTOMER CARE REGISTRATION POLICIES

Uh-oh, we had to cancel:

Regrettably, if a minimum number of registrants are not met, we may have to cancel or combine classes. These decisions are made prior to the course start date. Please register early to avoid disappointment. A 100% refund is granted when we cancel a program.

When a class has been cancelled due to instructor illness or weather conditions, a class will be added on at the end of the session. If this is not possible, a refund will be issued for the missed class.

For Island Savings Centre programs

Classes missed due to sickness, vacation or other reasons will not be refunded or credited.

For Island Savings Centre programs a

credit in the form of a gift card or a refund will be issued if we receive withdrawal notification 1 week prior to the course start date. If less than 1 week’s notice is given, no refund or credit will be issued.

In the case of week-long camps we require notification 2 weeks in advance of program start date. There may be other exceptions to these guidelines. In some cases, these exceptions will be noted in the individual course description.

Cowichan Aquatic Centre Leisure Access Program

Island Savings Centre Recreation Access Program

Provides support, through program credits and no charge access to the aquatic centre, to individuals and families living below the Statistics Canada low income threshold. The program is available to residents of North Cowichan, the City of Duncan, Cowichan Tribes and CVRD Area’s A, B, C, D & E and Town of Lake Cowichan. To inquire or apply for this program please visit the front desk of the Cowichan Aquatic Centre.

Helping eligible children, youth and families access programs and activities at the Island Savings Centre.

Families who live within the Cowichan Valley Regional District, Island Savings Centre tax base are eligible to apply once a year. Requests are granted on a first come, first served basis with priority given to children, youth, and the most in need. Pick up an application form at the Island Savings Centre. JumpStart Program Strong communities include strong kids. Canadian Tire believes all kids should have the chance to run, skate and play. Canadian Tire Jumpstart is a community based charitable program that helps kids in financial need participate in organized sport and recreation such as hockey, dance, soccer and swimming, so they develop important life skills, self esteem and confidence. Experience the world of water and how to keep your little one safe in it. A combination of structured play with songs, holds and water exploration with important water safety info and tips for mom and dad. This is sure to provide you with peace of mind with your baby around the water. Engagement and interaction makes each visit a success.

Submersion, rhythmic breathing, treading water, floats, glides on front and back are taught with assisted and unassisted strategies. Learn how to move safely through the water with gained confidence and enjoyment.

Submersion, breath control, front and back floats & glides and other basic progressions are focused on. Learn to swim at your rate to develop buoyancy, floating and gliding skills. Most of all you will be able to enjoy the many benefits of the water.

Advanced Swim Lessons

Are you interesting in becoming a lifeguard but don’t have the time to wait for all the courses. The cowichan Aquatic Centre is offering a new way to start your journey to being a lifeguard. This challenging course includes instruction in lifesaving skills, water rescues and first aid. You will leave this course with a Bronze Cross and Medallion certification as well as a standard CPR C and First aid. 100% attendance mandatory.

After building basic skills with adult beginners you will learn front crawl, proper breathing techniques, back crawl, breaststroke and refining all of the basic strokes. Endurance and swimming for fitness are also encouraged.

The Cowichan Aquatic Centre and Aspire together are offering this program. Children are taught varying drills for each discipline as well as tips on how to handle each discipline while racing. A mini-triathlon will happen on the Friday to give them a feel for what to expect during the real thing. The main goal of the camp is to provide a fun and healthy atmosphere as well as help make the transition to racing that much more easier by providing helpful hints. Following this camp you will be ready to register in the Metchosin Triathlon August 10, 2014.

For new mammas and papas to engage in a well-rounded yoga practice while the babies chill out. Poses will encourage connection between parent and child and our space will be welcoming of nursing, diaper-changing and colicky moments.

The Core: specifically referring to the muscles of the abdominal and lower back.

Strengthening these muscles will result in trimming and toning waistlines and improvements in balance and posture.

Get back your pre-baby body! Start that process as soon as you’re able (ie. doctor says it is ok). Each class will go through a series of routines that focus on four major areas of your body, core, arms, legs and butt and we will start to re engineer your muscular structure, wake up your accessory muscles, pull in your larger muscles and shift your shape back to your pre-pregnancy self or even better!
