CAC warns of avalanche danger Caution urged, even in valley bottoms

Search and Rescue unit members and the CAC are advising that this is a very problematic year for avalanches, and snowmobilers need to be aware of avalanche terrain even in valley bottoms.

“We’ve been dealt a pretty troublesome snowpack this season and our terrain choices need to reflect that fact,” said Karl Klassen, Manager of the CAC’s Public Avalanche Warning Service.

After four avalanche fatalities in the past week, the Canadian Avalanche Centre is urging backcountry users to be cautious in the coming days.

The City of Kimberley’s water supply system consists of eight concrete storage reservoirs, three chlorinating plants, over 100 kilometres of water main pipe, three pump stations and a concrete dam with 275 million-litre reservoir.

The dam was built in the early 1990s and at the time was one of the largest projects ever undertaken by the city, and to date has never been inspected to assure that it is structurally sound.

It is a requirement by the Ministry of Environment that all municipal dams undergo a dam Safety Review every five years.

While you’re not looking, this is what’s happening to BC’s world renowned recycling program.

Well, lookie here.

One minute you have a perfectly good Blue Box recycling program. The next, something new and rather questionable is being put in its place. And they thought they’d get away with it right under your nose, without telling you or asking your opinion.

That’s definitely not democracy in action.

The BC Government, elected by us to represent our best interests, has decided to offload the costs of recycling to big multi-national corporations. To implement this new plan, they’ve set up an association that doesn’t really seem to hold the environment, local jobs, or the municipalities that run the Blue Box program, close to its heart.

Perhaps that’s why some of our local elected officials are using the word “scam” to describe how the new program is being set up. It’s also perhaps why several of BC’s municipalities refuse to jump on board.

That’s gotta tell you something.

Now it’s your turn to let Premier Christy Clark know what you think. Contact her today to say that dismantling an already-working recycling program to replace it with something that few people think will be as good, is a bad idea.

The North Star Skating Club wraps up the year with Show Case 2014 The NSSC proudly presented Show Case 2014 on March 7 at Civic Arena. Club skaters from the Canskate, Canpowerskate and Starskate programs provided two hours of impressive entertainment for their audience. Coaches Tamara Bannatyne, Caitlin Cavalier and Kim Miller worked very hard over the last few months preparing for this year’s Show.

Tamara has been producing a high level of skating within the Starskate program this season and this was certainly evident in their skating performances.

Several skaters received recognition at this year’s show. Caitlin Cavalier finished her final year of skating with the NSSC. Caitlin has achieved great success in the sport of figure skating and has achieved gold level. A special presentation was made to Caitlin at this year’s show. Zoe Bianca was named Starskater of the year.

Zoe has had a very successful competitive year and was recognized for her hard work and accomplishments this season. Sydney Wilson was chosen as Program Assistant of the year. Sydney enjoys coaching canskate and it certainly showed in her work.

Three canskaters were celebrated as “Canskaters of the Year”. Logan Cox, Kate Moody and Mischa Stevens have showed great progress this season and earned this title out of 40 Canskaters who skated with the Club this year. Congratulations to these skaters on being recognized within the Club. The NSSC has been very proud of all its Club’s skaters this year.

This year’s show was sponsored by Mark Creek Lion’s Club, Creekside Physiotherapy, Moody Bee, R.W. Anderson Contracting and Teck Dormant Properties.

The support provided by these sponsors made it possible to offer complimentary admission. Donations were accepted at the door with $1000 being raised to ensure that NSSC is able to continue its development of local skating programs.

Presently Canskaters and Powerskaters have retired for the season. Starskaters will be participating in the Cranbrook and Invermere Spring and summer schools to continue working on their skills which will be tested in Invermere on April 11. Best wishes to these very dedicated and determined figure skaters.

The Chapman Camp Community Playground Committee (CCCP) and the Kimberley Independent School were thrilled to see 200 plus community members out to participate in the Winter Soup Jigger last week.

The event was held in the Chapman Camp Community Playground where plans are unfolding for a new Natural Playground for Kimberley.

The event was inspired by KIS’ recent nomination as a finalist in the Majesta Trees of Knowledge submitted for an outdoor classroom. April 7 is the kick off for the voting process, and KIS is hoping for the community’s support to vote and nominate them for this wonderful opportunity to win $20 000.00’s worth of landscape design and trees for an outdoor classroom. Together KIS and CCCP will encourage the community to vote as you personally can win $10,000.00 for simply voting. Each time you vote, your name is en-

The answer is as soon as possible. Council voted this past Monday evening to retain Northwest Hydraulic Consultants from Kamloops to carry out the safety review. It will be a two stage review carried out over two years.

NHC will begin the first phase, involving a site visit to inspect the structure’s condition and deliver a site visit report. The first phase will cost $23,500 including disbursements, travel and accommodation.

The second phase involves high level assessment of the flood model, calculations to assess dam stability and structural performance for updated flood and seismic models and more.

NHC can only estimate costs as they are dependent on what may be found during the site visit. However, they suggest it could be up to $50,000.

“There are no apparent issues and we don’t expect any,” said Mayor Ron McRae.

From Page 1 “The weak layers we’ve been tracking for many weeks remain a significant problem and areas where you might have felt safe in previous seasons may not be the best choices this winter.”

He points out that two of the latest avalanches, including the one at Gray Creek were in cutblocks, below the treeline where riders might feel safe.

“Often, riding below treeline can be a safer choice in terms of avalanche danger,” explains Klassen. “But with the current warm temperatures and wet snow at low elevations, that’s not the case at this time. Riders need to be

wary of avalanche terrain even near valley bottom, at least until a solid freeze occurs.”

Until conditions improve, the CAC recommends travelling on small, simple, low-angle terrain with no terrain traps. Exposure to large slopes and cornices above should also be avoided whenever possible.

It’s also critical that all backcountry users are equipped with essential safety equipment for avalanche terrain, Klassen says.

“Everyone in the party needs an avalanche transceiver, a probe and a shovel every day, regardless of expected conditions. And it’s equally vital that everyone is

familiar with has practiced using this equipment. If an avalanche occurs, there is no time to go for help. The critical window for finding and extricating a victim is just 10 minutes, when there is an 80 per cent chance of survival.

The odds drop dramatically after that. At just 35 minutes, there’s a less than 10 per cent chance of survival.”

FozzyFest is back at Koocanusa The three-day music festival seeks permission to run again at Koocanusa Sally MacDonald Townsman Staff

The organizers of a three-day music festival held last summer at Koocanusa are seeking permission to hold the festival again this Canada Day weekend.

Darryl Stanat and Shawn Lafleur, directors of FozzyFest, presented their plans to the Regional District of East Kootenay board of directors on Friday, March 7.

The pair gave a history of the festival, which will celebrate its 10th anniversary this year, and talked about how they found the Big Springs campground on Koocanusa last year as a new site for the festival.

Because it expects to have 1,000 attendees, FozzyFest requires a special event license from the regional district to proceed, even though it will be held at the campground owned and operated by the Tobacco Plains Band.

The three-day outdoor camping festival will have three stages set up throughout the campground, two in the heart of the campsite and one on the beach.

Music plays from noon until 6 a.m. each day, but the beach stage closes down at 11 p.m.

Stanat said that festival attendees are in their late 20s and early 30s, and as a non-profit they aim to leave the site better than they found it.

“Anyone who visits our festival finds it’s quite a positive experience,” he said.

“We’re not out to make money. This is all about building community, and building lasting friendships and memories.

“We actually leave the site cleaner than when we found it. We pride ourselves on that.”

He said that they will take steps to alleviate noise problems experienced last year, by closing down the beach stage at night, pointing speakers away from the lake, and using sound baffling techniques.

“We can’t guarantee there won’t be any complaints, but we definitely think we can limit the number of complaints.

All those steps we can take will limit the issues,” said Stanat.

As well as noise, directors raised concerns with the festival organizers about parking for a large number of vehicles, first aid, searches for banned items such as drugs, firearms and fireworks if a ban is in place, and ways the festival to give back to the community.

Stanat and Lafleur registered each concerns and said they would work to change their plans to alleviate the directors’ worries.

Does anyone go to hell?

A

lmost two years ago, I wrote a column about “Love Wins”, the book written by Rob Bell. He asks whether it is really true that God would send to hell anyone who doesn’t claim to have faith in God. He concludes that God does not withhold love from anyone, that all people are embraced within God’s love. In this way, “love wins” — truly and deeply.

Many evangelical Christians were horrified by that conclusion, and excoriated Bell online.

They claimed he was engaging in heresy by espousing a position many call “universalism,” which is the belief that God will ultimately redeem all people.

My own position is that no one is excluded from the love of God — not in this life, and not in whatever follows this life.

Everyone is loved. Period. End of story.

Partly, I bring this up because this week, preachers all around the world who serve churches which follow the Revised Common Lectionary (including Roman Catholics, Lutherans, Presbyterians, Anglicans and others) will be preparing sermons on the world’s most famous Bible verse, John 3:16. In case you don’t have it memorized, this verse — which might be summarized “Love wins!” — reads, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”

Interestingly, everywhere else in the Gospel of John, the word for “world” (kosmos in Greek) describes a world that is at complete enmity with God. A typical example is this prayer by Jesus just before his crucifixion: “I have given them your

word, and the world (kosmos) has hated them because they do not belong to the world (kosmos), just as I do not belong to the world (kosmos). I am not asking you to take them out of the world (kosmos), but I ask you to protect them from the evil one. They do not belong to the world (kosmos), just as I do not belong to the world (kosmos).” (John 17:14–16) When we understand this, it gives John 3:16 a bit more punch: “For God so loved the God–hating world that he sent his only Son …”

Apparently, at least acRev. Yme cording to John’s gospel, Woensdregt God really, really, really loves the world.

This doesn’t, of course, by itself address the question of universalism, as the verse continues, “all who believe will not perish but have eternal life.” But the force of God’s love as John’s gospel articulates it does raise the question of why hell is so incredibly important to so many Christians?

As a theological concept, “hell” is almost entirely missing from the Old Testament and surfaces as a minor concern in the New, showing up most frequently in Jesus’ parables (which, let’s not forget, regularly defy a literal reading). In contrast, topics like proper treatment of the poor, good use of money, and the imperative to care for neighbour and creation all capture most of the attention of the biblical authors.

In other words, Christian faith has more to do with how we live in this world than it does with getting out of this world and receiving an eternal reward.

The threat of hell was most fully developed in the Middle Ages as a motivational system. People were told that they could avoid eternal punishment if they engaged in all kinds of supposedly pious acts, including everything from donating money to build the Sistine Chapel to enlisting in countless Crusades.

But it strikes me that we attach an importance to hell today less from a fear of eternal punishment, and more because of an allure of certainty. People seem to want a clear sense of the rewards and punishments for having or lacking faith in Christ. It offers a compelling logic which seems to reduce ambiguity from the life of faith. After all, as many have argued, if you can go to heaven without believing in Christ, what’s the point of faith in the first place?

So this unbiblical sense of certainty gives people a clear standard by which to judge “who’s in” and “who’s out.” Talk about seductive!

But neither the Bible nor Christian faith gives us this certainty. It is not ours to possess. We follow a God who really, really, really loves the world. Even the God–hating part of it.

And I, for one, choose to believe that God continues to come into the world to heal it. God is not content to let the world “go to hell in a handbasket”, or any other conveyance. God loves. After that, God continues to love. After that, God loves some more.

We simply cannot limit how far God’s redemptive love can reach.

Cranbrook, in many ways, was built on mining, or at least the speculative side of the enterprise. From the Wild Horse to Perry Creek and Palmer Bar, from the Sullivan Mine at Kimberley to the St. Eugene Mine at Moyie, the prospect of wealth was always winking seductively and there were always someone waiting to be seduced.

at a cost of 25 cents each. Investors were hopeful because the more money raised the more digging could be done. The No. 1 tunnel went in a distance of about 180 feet near the summit of the hill. The No. 2 shaft lower down the mountainside eventually reached a distance of 450 feet into the hillside. The No.1, 50 feet above the lake, went in some 370 feet.

Information was received in Sept. that “high grade ore has been struck in the lower tunnel and that the outlook for the mine never looked brighter.”

The reports appear to have been premature. In December, Beale and Elwell arranged an excursion to the mine via a boat across the lake, allowing prospective investors to view the “now famous” Aurora mine workings. The fame appears to have been premature; the excursion appears to have left some investors cold.

Mining continued throughout the summer of 1910, demonstrating how “cleverly means are adapted to the ends in view at every turn, but this might be expected since a considerable amount of the development has been done by practical miners who, instead of taking cash for their work, were glad to accept stock in the company.”

In short, underequipped men earning no money. A final editorial plea in December, 1911, entreated “let those who have fought so long and so successfully on the deep of the great financial waters but stay, loyally, together a little longer and the mounting wave will move them shoreward soon.”

It was upon that wave that the Aurora’s ship sailed in 1912 (with the exception of the years 1926-27, when it was mined once more with similar results).

The remains of the mining are still plainly visible across the waters from the town of Moyie.

The St. Eugene, about 1,000 yards eastward of the Aurora, produced over a million tons of silver/lead ore in a period of some 20 years and made its investors a great deal of money.

The Aurora turned out less than 4,000 tons all told. As Jane Austen (though not much of a miner herself) inquired in Pride and Prejudice: “What are men to rocks and mountains?”

Buchy rink heads to mixed provincials TRE VOR CR AWLEY Sports Editor

A Kimberley curling crew is back on the ice at provincials as they take another shot at a trip to the national championship.

The mixed rink comprised of Tom and Lori Buchy and Dave and Robyn Toffolo are off to Vancouver Island where they are going up against seven other teams for the right to represent B.C. at the nationals.

“It always pretty much feels the same,” said Dave Toffolo, who throws in second.

“You’ve got to get off to a good start and if you can get into that ‘A’ final, that’s a big step to making the playoffs, because you get a couple of cracks at the playoffs, even if you’re not successful in that game.

A good start and getting on a roll is the main goal, said Tom Buchy, who skips the rink.

“You gotta get going because it’s a triple-knockout,” Buchy

said. “If you don’t get going early, and you get down in that ‘C’ event quick—it’s tough.”

They’ll be going up against a few teams that have been around the block, however, some are also new to the provincial curling scene.

Both Buchy and Toffolo have gone up against Wes Craig, who skips a team out of Duncan. The Kimberley curling crew beat the Craig rink a few years ago to earn the B.C. spot at the national championships in Montreal.

Other familiar faces include a team skipped

by Brian Gessner out of Vancouver and another team led by Steve Kopf, who curled in the 2013 Tim Hortons Breir.

“There are a couple teams that we’re familiar with, but there’s also a few teams that we’re not familiar with, but it still looks like a pretty good lineup,” said Buchy.

Thunder Cats stays alive to force Game 6 with 4-2 win over Nitros TRE VOR CR AWLEY Sports Editor

With Creston on the ropes, the Thunder Cats made a pushback in Game 5 on Thursday night, winning 4-2 on home ice to hold off the Nitros for at least another day.

The Dynamiters still lead the series 3-2 and have a chance to close it out on home ice on Friday night at the Civic Centre in Kimberley.

Tied after two periods, the Thunder Cats were able to surge ahead in the final frame, scoring twice—one with an empty net—to pick up the win.

Though Kimberley has lit up both Creston goaltenders over the series, Kyle Michalovsky picked up the win with 30 saves, while Nitros netminder Tyson Brouwer turned away 28 shots in defeat.

Kimberley got outshot in the first period, but responded to take

the edge in offensive chances over the following two frames. Both teams ended the contest even at 32 shots.

The Thunder Cats scored the one goal of the first period, with Jesse Collins putting Creston in the lead with 3:59 left on the scoreboard.

Bryce Nielsen responded early in the second period to tie up the game, and AP player Jesse Wallace put Kimberley in the lead five minutes later.

But it would not last, as Trevor Hanna knotted the game back up again for Creston late in the frame.

The two teams went

to war in the final 20 minutes to gain the edge, and it was Colton St. John for the Thunder Cats who pulled his team ahead just before the halfway mark of the frame.

Collins sealed it up for the T-Cats with an empty net goal with 65 seconds remaining in the game.

Kimberley was scoreless in three chances with the man-advantage, while Creston was denied on both their two opportunities on the powerplay.

Tyler Garcia sat for his second of a two-game suspension for accumulated checking to the head minors. He will be eligible to return on Friday night’s home game.

Even if the series goes to seven games, the Thunder Cats will be missing forward Brandon Formosa for all of it, who sat for his third of a five-game suspension after an incident in Game Two.

Playoff seeding at stake as Ice wrap up regular season Tre vor Cr awley Sports Editor

The Kootenay Ice have one last statement to make this season as they get set for a home and home finale with the Calgary Hitmen.

Dropping the last two affairs in one-goal losses to the Oil Kings and Rebels, the Ice are trying to keep their grasp on fifth place in the Eastern Conference..

Calgary, in turn, is trying to wrest first place away from Edmonton— meaning both the Ice and the Hitmen will have something to play for when they go headto-head this weekend.

Though Kootenay has the edge with a 4-11-0 record in the season series, head coach Ryan McGill said that the past doesn’t matter, especially with playoff seeding consequences on the line.

“It’s different for everybody,” said McGill.

“We’re desperate to try to stay in the fifth spot and they’re desperate to try to get the number one spot. This is going to be a different animal this weekend.

“This isn’t just about previous success—I think this is going to be two desperate hockey teams and obviously, we’re shorthanded and they’re not, so it’ll be a test of our character and it’ll be a test of how well we can play defensively.”

Kootenay will play host for the final home game of the season on Friday. It will also be Awards Night, as the club will hand out team awards, save for the Playoff MVP, which will be handed out at the conclusion of the WHL post-season.

It’s a time of year where the out-of-town

scoreboard can make a difference in the playoff seeding.

Calgary was in a dogfight for first overall, until Edmonton pulled ahead to lead by a pair of points. Edmonton finishes the season with a home and home series with the Rebels.

Kootenay, in turn, is only one point ahead of the Broncos, and will need to make a statement against Calgary to keep their tenuous hold on fifth place.

Back then, there weren’t any rape counselors. I confided in my sister but never reported it. I learned to live through it.

A few years later, I was stunned to see this same man at my nephew’s college graduation party. I told my sister this was the man who had raped me. She said she had never seen “Nick” display any violent tendencies, and that she and her husband had many business dealings with him.

He then showed up at her place for another party. His presence brought back all of my suppressed fears. I was frightened, cried and left, but not before I shared my experience with my two grown nephews. My sister was livid that I told her sons about the rape.

I said they deserve to know who their parents’ friends are. Nick was chummy with my nephews, and it made me sick.

My fears began to fade when I learned that Nick was moving out of state. My husband and I also moved away. My sister never confronted Nick about me. But when I came back to visit a few years ago, I saw pictures of her 50th birthday party, and there was Nick, seated with her family, having a great time.

My sister is now 68. Looking through her Facebook page, I saw Nick in several recent photos of her with her friends. I am terribly upset that she continues to associate with this man and apparently doesn’t care how I feel. How do I work through this? I don’t want to ruin my friendship with my sister. -Still Scared Dear Still: Your sister prefers to deny that Nick raped you, because it allows her to maintain a relationship with a man with whom she has business dealings. It’s good that you have moved far enough away to limit contact. We also suggest you steer clear of her Facebook page, where you are likely to see photographs of Nick. But please know that it is never too late to get counseling.

Dear Annie: Cremation seems to be getting more popular, but advisory notices from the cremation societies all say that there is at present no way of extracting DNA from cremains.

I feel the funeral homes should be obligated to preserve a DNA sample, even if it is a lock of hair. Some years ago, a woman named Anna Anderson claimed, probably sincerely, that she was Grand Duchess Anastasia from the Czarist Romanov family.

A DNA sample proved otherwise. She had been cremated, and no one ever would have known the truth, but fortunately, a body part from an earlier operation had been preserved.

I realize that was an unusual case, but it did solve a mystery, and there may be others waiting to be solved. Perhaps people could make a provision in their will that a DNA sample be preserved. -- P.J. Dear P.J.: You are correct that DNA is destroyed during the cremation process. However, we don’t necessarily agree that the burden of extracting a DNA sample should belong to the funeral homes, and a provision in a will would be heard too late. In potential criminal cases, the police handle it. Otherwise, if someone wants their DNA preserved, they can do it on their own or notify family members to take a sample before consigning the body to the funeral home.

Dear Annie: I agree with your response to “Worried” that he shouldn’t be so upset about his girlfriend’s risk-taking behavior based on her age.

However, I wish you had addressed the issue of the lady’s constantly changing the meeting times. This shows a total lack of respect and consideration for her partner. Obituaries Jack (John) David Gyori Nov 17, 1953 â&#x20AC;&#x201C; March 9, 2014 It is with great sadness that the family of Jack Gyori announce his passing on Sunday March 9, 2014 after a brief battle with cancer.

Jack enjoyed the outdoors and hiked up Fisher Peak numerous times in his younger years. He loved motor biking, bush honking and taking in nature. Jack was a kind hearted spirit, loving father, uncle and friend to all who knew him. Jack was a long time employee of the Cranbrook Daily Townsman. He was loved by staff, customers and all who met him during his years of service.

Jack is survived by his daughter Adele Olson, sister Judy Harvey (Neil), Kristal and Nathan; nephews Jonas Gyori (Jen), Jeremy Gyori (Jamie) Hudson and Noah; niece Melissa (Luke), Alex.

Russia bans several websites critical of government ASSOCIATED PRESS

MOSCOW — Russia on Thursday banned several websites notable for their criticism of the government and a blog run by prominent opposition leader Alexei Navalny as the Kremlin intensified its crackdown on independent media amid tensions over Ukraine.

The government communications watchdog, Roskomnadzor, said Grani.ru, Kasparov.ru and Yezhednevny Zhurnal (Daily Journal) have carried incitements to unlawful

behaviour and participation in unauthorized mass gatherings. It said the ban was requested by the Prosecutor General’s Office and Internet providers are now under instructions to implement the block.

Kasparov.ru was run by opposition figure and former chess champion Garry Kasparov. Along with two other websites, it carried scathing criticism of President Vladimir Putin’s government, including its action in Ukraine, where Russian troops have taken control of the Crimean pen-

insula. On Sunday, Crimea is set to hold a referendum on joining Russia, which has been rejected by Ukraine and the West as illegitimate.

Navalny’s blog also was banned Thursday over the alleged violation of the terms of the two-month house arrest that he is currently serving.

The action against independent websites came a day after the owner of Lenta.ru, a leading online news outlet, fired its editor over coverage of Ukraine.

Royal editor says Princess Diana leaked royal phone directory Associated Press

LONDON — A journalist on trial in Britain’s phone hacking scandal testified Thursday that Princess Diana provided him with information on the royals, including a phone directory, as part of her feud with her estranged husband, Prince Charles.

Former News of the World royal editor Clive Goodman said Diana handed over the data after her separation from Charles, when she was going through a ``very, very difficult time’’ and was looking for media support.

Diana and Charles separated in 1992 and divorced four years later.

She died in a Paris car

crash in 1997.

Goodman said the 1992 phone directory that she sent to his newspaper office gave him numerous staff contacts and telephone numbers that were helpful in his reporting on the royal family. ``She told me she wanted me to see the scale of her husband’s staff and household, compared with others,’’ Goodman said. ``She felt she was being swamped by people close to his household.

She was looking for an ally to take him on — to show there were forces that would rage against him.’’

Goodman, 56, has been linked to the

long-running phone hacking scandal since his first arrest in 2006 for suspected hacking into the voicemails of royal aides. He was briefly jailed in 2007. He is on trial now for two counts of alleged conspiracy to commit misconduct in a public office, which he denies.

Rupert Murdoch shut down the News of the World tabloid in 2011 after the scope of the phone hacking scandal became known.

Dozens of people have been arrested in the scandal, including former top Murdoch executives, and his company has paid out millions in compensation to victims.

Sometimes, having an appetite for adventure doesn’t go down so well. Rocky, a curious puppy, learned that lesson the hard way.

Rocky’s appetite led him to emergency surgery, after the animal chowed down a stomach full of rocks and plastic.

The pup is now recuperating at the Kamloops branch of the SPCA. An X-ray done before the surgery shows the 2.5 month old Labrador, pit bull-cross managed to swallow a lot more than he could manage and needed extensive surgery to survive his gastronomic gaffe.

Born on Christmas Day, Rocky was recently surrendered to the Kamloops SPCA shelter.

“Rocky’s inquisitive nature led him to somehow swallow a piece of plastic that appears to be from a chair leg, as well as some rocks,’’ said SPCA branch manager Charleen Holloway.

“He’s such a playful, energetic, mischievous little guy. And he’s cute as well as resilient.”

The surgery and related care is estimated to cost between $1,500 and $2,500.

Now in foster care while he recuperates, Rocky will take approximately six weeks to recover before he’ll need a new home.
