Christmas Imagine a single parent, working forty hours a week, managing the family, barely making ends meet to provide for their child. That parent is one of many working families in our community who struggle to pay their bills, put food on the table and provide opportunities for their children; the added responsibility of childcare when the child is between the ages of five and twelve makes it much more difficult. Can I afford care? Do I have resources to call in a favour? Can I let my child walk home from school on their own ... is it safe? What will they do once they get home; watch TV, or play video games? As we are nearing the holidays, a time of celebration, family, and joy it’s also a time to reflect and be thankful. In this time of celebration we find ourselves thinking about those less fortunate. A way for you to help is
Our organization recognizes that families are facing tough challenges and we want to help. What if the Boys and Girls Club could provide financial assistance to our families? The Boys and Girls Club offers childcare but what if we could do more? Well, we can!
to attend our Christmas Village Event at the beautiful Crown Isle Resort and Golf Community. There you will find stunning Gingerbread masterpieces and creatively dressed Teddy Bears, each entry a lot in the Silent Auction. All proceeds will be supporting our Boys and Girls Club. Our organization recognizes that families are facing tough challenges and we want to help. What if the Boys and Girls Club could provide financial assistance to our families? The Boys and Girls Club offers childcare but what if we could do more? Well, we can! With the help of the community and the expected funds raised through our Christmas Village
Silent Auction… we will be launching the Boys and Girls Clubs Family Assistance Fund! The Family Assistance Fund will roll out in the Spring of 2014. If you are currently a member of the Boys and Girls Club, who does not receive any other financial assistance and could utilize our programs to help support you as a parent – we want to help. We will be rolling out further information through our clubs (Aspen Park Elementary and Brooklyn Elementary) in addition to posting on our website www.bgccvi.com or call us at 250.338.7582. We hope the Comox Valley community will come out and view the amazing masterpieces that make up our Christmas Village and place a bid. You will be directly helping children and families that need your assistance.

Our Core Values Inclusion & Opportunity
We strive to offer children and youth from all economic, cultural and social backgrounds access to the resources, supports and opportunities that will enable them to overcome barriers and achieve their positive potential in life.
Respect & Belonging We provide a safe, supportive place, where every child is listened to, respected and valued in an environment of inclusion and acceptance. Our staff and volunteers model honesty, fair play, positive attitude, cooperation and respect for self and others.
