Nationals bound

- 13 year old Kirsten Prelle of Sylvan Lake won the Girls U14 Tennis Provincial Championship on Sunday at the Saville Sports Centre in Edmonton. Prelle was the #2 seed. She defeated Jessica Kruetz in the first round 6-0, 6-1, defeated Jia Xuan Tan in the semi-finals 6-3, 6-1 and then defeated #1 seed Maya Dukaric in the finals 6-2, 7-6 (5) for the championship. Prelle will represent Alberta at the U14 Canadian Indoor Tennis Junior Nationals in Vancouver March 31 to April 6. She has also been selected to represent Alberta at the U16 Indoor Rogers Junior Nationals in Montreal Mar. 24-29. For more sports news see pages 16-18 and 22. SUBMITTED
