The Midway Community Hall was transformed into a Dr. Seuss wonderland on Saturday as the Midway Community Club put on a Whoville Children’s Christmas Party. There were pictures with Santa by Niki Ferrier, a special performance of The Grinch Who Stole Christmas—directed by John Hibberson and

preformed by some of the older kids, Christmas Carols, professional air brushed face painting, lots of crafts, colouring and cookie decorating. There was also coffee, tea, hot chocolate, hot dogs and treats. All children aged 0-10 received a gift from Santa. Mrs. Claus, who had accompanied Santa, said the trip provided a nice opportunity for the reindeer to get some practice landing on roofs. “They did a nice landing in Fort St. James but down in

Williams Lake they missed and they slid across the lake,” she admitted. “But we made it and we made it on time. By the time the big day rolls around they’ll be good to go.” Speaking on behalf of the community club, Cat Kappes said the Whoville theme was the brainchild of Jolly McMynn who turned the set design over to her sister Heather Hollingsworth and Greenwood’s Erika Ruley.
