Remembrance Day ceremonies at the Kettle Valley and Greenwood cenotaphs were well attended by young and old on Monday. Low clouds hung over the 89-year-old Kettle Valley cenotaph but winds were calm and the temperature tolerable as the communities gathered to honour The Fallen. Following the ceremonies everyone was invited to the Greenwood Legion for lunch.

As well as the cenotaph ceremonies on Nov. 11, the schools also gathered on Nov. 7 for a Remembrance assembly with the Royal Canadian Legion Greenwood Branch # 155. Buses brought students from Beaverdell, West Boundary and Greenwood Elementary schools for the ceremony and, during the assembly, students from each school laid a wreath. BCSS Principal Louise Bayles, whose daughter is an officer in the Canadian military, expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to be part of the Remembrance Ceremonies held at the school

The John Lennon song Imagine was performed by Brandon Millet, Dylan Winn, and Sam Hildebrande. God Save the Queen was led by Mrs. Sarah Tripp.
