Teens come forward after hit-and-run Woman suffers broken legs after being struck by truck in egging incident

Kevin MILLS Abbotsford News

Three youths have turned themselves over to Abbotsford Police for their part in a hitand-run incident. The incident occurred at 1 a.m. on Saturday morning, at the intersection of George Ferguson Way and Gladwin Road. Prior to the collision, three teenaged friends – two young men and a woman – were seated

at a bus stop bench when a white pickup truck with silver rims approached their position eastbound on George Ferguson Way. The pickup truck slowed and the occupants began throwing eggs at the teenagers. The 17-year-old female walked toward the truck to determine why the driver and passengers were doing this. The girl was run over when the truck accelerated. The vehicle continued despite the impact and injury to

the victim. The girl was transported to hospital and received treatment for fractures to both legs. Const. Ian MacDonald said the young woman is now recovering from her injuries. “She’s got at least three fractures to her legs so it’s probably going to be a long recovery, and of course, there will be an emotional component to it as well.”
