remier Christy Clark has found a new political home here in the Central Okanagan. The Liberal leader easily won the Westside-Kelowna byelection Wednesday, taking nearly 63 per cent of the vote. Despite living in Vancouver—she plans to set up a second residence here—she says she is determined to address local issues on behalf of her new constituents and is pleased to be the newest member of what her fellow local MLAs call Team Okanagan. In today’s Close-Up, assistant editor Alistair Waters looks at what residents can expect from their new MLA. See story on page A3

B.C. PREMIER, and now Westside-Kelowna MLA-elect, Christy Clark was all smiles Wednesday night during her victory speech following her byelection win. And so was the man she replaces, former Liberal MLA Ben Stewart (seen here behind Clark).
