Christina Lakeside Resort (CLR) is a seasonal recreational property containing 138 member owned sites, recreation facilities, boat docks, extensive beach areas and its own sewage treatment plant. Applicants should have experience and/or training in all aspects of the resort management including guest and owner services, all office functions including bookkeeping, Microsoft Office and maintenance of marine and land based assets. The successful candidate must have Sewage Plant Operation certificate at time of contract signing as well as confined space entry training. Candidates who display alternate, but equivalent work history will be considered although those with industry experience will be given priority. Donald Chambers January 4, 1947 - May 22, 2013 We regret to announce that Donald Gordon Chambers of Castle Wood Village, Castlegar died peacefully in his sleep on May 22, 2013. He was predeceased by his parents, Steve and Dot Chambers. He is survived by his wife Sarah Chambers of Mountain View Lodge, Nelson; his mother-in-law, Betty Polster of Duncan; his brother in law, David Polster and wife Genevieve Singleton of Duncan; sister-in-law, Celia Cheatley and husband David Cheatley of Victoria; brother in law Alan Polster and partner Lisa Larson of Revelstoke; and many nieces and nephews. Don was a kind man and a devoted husband, son and uncle. He grew up with his brother Dennis in Castlegar and was a lifelong resident of Castlegar and surrounding area. He worked for BC Forestry at a fire tower, Cominco and BC Ferries at Thrums, Glade and Robson. He married the love of his life, Sarah, in 1980. During all the ups and downs of Sarah and Don’s challenges Don remained committed and concerned about Sarah to the end of his life. In midlife Don was diagnosed with bipolar disease and later blindness. He took a great interest in country and western music, cars and current events. He had a phenomenal memory for dates and events. As a young man he enjoyed fishing, camping and hiking. His nephews and nieces gave him great joy and he took much interest in their activities. Our deepest thanks to Rhonda Barisoff and Linda Krantz of Castlegar Mental Health for making a profound difference in Don’s life during the last few years; Linda Frew and Jane Phillips of Castle Wood Village and staff for making the last year of his life so comfortable; Dr. Merritt and staff for their many years of care of Don and Sarah; Clare Singleton of Endako for her help and long friendship with Don; Jim May and Cathy Scott-May of Bonnington for their assistance in the past year and Jean Smith for her kind visits to Don. A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, June 18, 2-4 pm, at Castle Wood Village, 525 Columbia Ave., Castlegar. Donations to Castlegar Mental Health Services, 707 10th Street, Castlegar, BC, V1N 2H7, earmarked with Don’s name would be welcomed. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Evelyn Clare Batchelor (Forbes) on May 17, 2013 Evelyn was born July 23, 1922 in St. Walburg Sask. In 1942 she married Richard Batchelor and in 1947 moved to Kinnaird before moving to Robson. Evelyn enjoyed fishing, camping, sewing and knitting, especially loved family get-togethers for any and all occasions. She was predeceased by her husband, grandson Grant, son Ted, sister Edna and brother Bill. Evelyn is survived by son Tom (Karen), daughter-in-law Linda, grandchildren Connie, Carrie, Stacie (Clay) Jason (Kayla) Anita (Fred) Wendy ( Alex), and 19 great grandchildren, and sister June. The family would like to thank the staff of Castle Wood Village, Jubliee Manor and Talarico Place for their wonderful care. A memorial service will be held on June 28, at the Kinnaird Park Community Church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association of B.C. Koozma Joe Pereverzoff It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, Koozma Joe Pereverzoff. Koozma passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2013 with his family by his side, in Pass Creek, at the age of 89. Koozma was born in Pass Creek, BC, on May 17, 1924 to parents Nick and Annie Pereverzoff. He married the love of his life Annie Sofonoff on December 23, 1950 in Champion Creek and resided in Pass Creek where they raised 4 children. Koozma retired from the sawmill industry after 29 years of service as a sawmill labourer. He was a member of the Union of Spiritual Communities of Christ (USCC) and truly enjoyed singing and being part of the Kootenay Psalmists. He was also an active member of the Pass Creek community choir group. Koozma enjoyed gardening, farming and spending time with his grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents Nick and Annie, brothers Nick, George, Fred, Alec and Cecil. Left to mourn his loss is his loving wife of 62 years Annie, son Serg (Eunice), son Christopher (Celine), son Walter, son Dan (Therese) and grandchildren Julie, Jodie, Nathan, Brenden, Chadd and Chloe. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Castlegar Funeral Chapel, and a traditional Doukhobour service was held at Brilliant Cultural Centre on Thursday, May 30, 2013 followed by interment in Pass Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Koozma’s memory may be made to ISKRA, 1876 Brilliant Road, Castlegar, BC V1N 4K2. Many thanks to each and everyone who provided Koozma’s family love and support during our time of need. A special thanks to Paul and Mary Verigin for all their help and support and Leonard Voykin for officiating the service.
