T-Cats hosting golf tourney BY LORNE ECKERSLEY Advance Staff

The fifth annual Creston Valley Thunder Cats golf tournament fundraiser is scheduled for May 4, committee member Bob Foreman said last week. “This year, in addition to the funds raised to assist the community-owned hockey team, a portion of the money will go to support Muscular Dystrophy Canada, in partnership with Creston Fire and Rescue,” he said. One-third of the funds raised will be directed to MDC, Foreman said. Sponsorships and prize donations are welcome. “You don’t need to be a great golfer to enjoy this tournament, which is a fun and friendly scramble,” he said. Cost to register is $65 for Creston Golf Club members who have paid their green fees and $75 for non-members. Individuals or teams can register by calling 250-428-5515 or emailing proshop@crestongolfclub.com by May 1. The event includes a best-ball scramble tournament, catered dinner and live and silent auctions. For more information, call Foreman at 250-428-5608 or Lawrence Smebey at 250-428-1735.
