Williams Lake city council will propose a 1.9 per cent tax increase and borrow $215,000 internally for a five-year term from its landfill reserves to balance its 2013 budget. At a public budget meeting held Wednesday evening in the Rick Hansen boardroom, council unanimously endorsed the proposal. Coun. Ivan Bonnell was absent from the meeting. Finance committee chair Coun. Geoff Bourdon reminded the public it has until Monday, April 22 to comment on this year’s budget process. The city’s five-year financial plan will be presented at the April 23 regular meeting.
