Spectacular Sangeet is inspired by song and music of Bollywood, Bhangra, Giddha, and classical Indian dance. The group exhibition combines works of photography, mixed-media collage, video art, and installation art. The artwork is wry, critical, and fun, and just like the notes on a musical scale, the diversity of song (or sangeet) is endless. Participating artists include Chila Kumari Burman, Oliver Husain, Harminder Singh Judge, Project Rainbow (Jesse Birch, Jade Boyd, Heidi Nutely, Sydney Vermont), Ron Sangha, Ikbal Singh, Meera Margaret Singh.The exhibition runs from April 13 to June 15 at the Surrey Art Gallery, 13750 88 Ave., with an opening reception April 13.
