imelines for Craigflower Bridge construction are still up in the air. View Royal and Saanich engineering staff had a first meeting with contractor Don Mann Construction Ltd. Tuesday “They weren’t allowed to meet until everything was signed,” said Saanich Mayor Frank Leonard. “I will be getting an update in the next few days.” Crews discussed when the bridge may be closed to traffic and options and a timeline for the pedestrian bridge, said View Royal Mayor Graham Hill. “It’s still a work in progress,” said Hill of ensuring Charla Huber pedestrian Reporting access across throughout the entire process. “We are obligated to meet the needs of the pedestrians.” It’s anticipated the bridge will be closed to traffic mid-April. While the construction will interrupt people travelling through the “busy corridor,” Hill said. “If we just left the bridge there it would fall down. You need to replace it somehow.” charla@goldstreamgazette.com
