Times have changed and so have the real estate companies and their business models. Most of today’s buyers use the internet to search for their new homes and see all the listings online before they start looking in person. It’s vitally important in today’s real estate market to present your staged house online with virtual tours and stunning photos and I have the expertise to do it.

One Percent Realty is a company with a very simple business model: low overhead and low fees charged to their agents. The low overhead is passed on to consumers by charging low commissions.

The sellers still get full MLS listings, signs, Driftwood real estate advertising and all the usual services offered by agents.

Compare commissions charged. On a $600,000 house One Percent charges a commission of $6,000 plus a $900 disbursement fee plus GST. For houses over $600,000 it is 1% plus $900 plus GST. The commission is shared between the buying and selling agents.

All real estate companies are free to set their own rate and there are no standard commissions. If an agent charges 7% on the first $100,000 and 3% on the balance for a $600,000 house the commission would be $22,000 plus GST. When you list with One percent Realty the commission would be $6900 plus GST. The savings would be $15,100 plus GST.

Real estate fees come out of your after tax home equity. If the home used in the example above had a $500,000 mortgage on it the higher real estate fees would be more than 22% of the owner’s equity. Don’t give away your home equity. How long would it take you to save more than $15,000 after tax?

The big myth “If I list with One Percent the other agents won’t show my house”. The reality is that the buyers have more access to information now and they decide what homes they want to see. On average 70% of One Percent Realty listings are sold by other agents.
