2012 KING OF THE COURTS! Second time was lucky for the at 61-61 after regulation. In overtime, Shivi Viria hit a huge 3 with 90

Senior Tournament History

Tamanawis Wildcats. The Cats battled through 8 different lead changes before capturing their first ever RCMP Classic Championship with a thrilling 68-66 overtime victory over the White Rock Christian Warriors. Tamanawis advanced the previous year to the Championship game before losing an exciting and incredibly hard fought game to the Enver Creek Cougars, 55-51. Not time time! Manny Dulay, named tournament MVP, led the offense with 25 points. The game was tied

2011 The final of the 20th edition of the Surrey RCMP Classic was the closest and most exciting in tournament history. Two of BC’s best teams, the ENVER CREEK Cougars and the TAMANAWIS Wildcats battled it out before an incredibly noisy and enthusiastic capacity crowd. The tough defensive contest was in doubt most of the night with the teams taking turns sharing the lead that was never greater than 4 points until the final minute when the Cougars went up by 7 to close out their second championship with a 55-51 victory. Enver Creek was led by tournament MVP Parvez Jhaj (17 points, 12 rebounds) , first all star Vikash Pillai (14 pts) and Marc Mincieli (11 pts). Tamanawis was led by all stars Gagan Sahota (16 pts), Sehaj Thind (13pts) and Manny Dulay (12pts). Enver advanced to the finals with victories over Fraser Heights, Southridge and Fleetwood Park while Tamanawis advanced with victories over Guildford Park, Princess Margaret and Clayton Heights. 2010 White Rock Christian Warriors captured their 10th title with a convincing 70-48 victory over Fleetwood Park. Fleetwood trailed by only 8 at the half but lost the services of their all star Nick Del Bianco who was forced out of the game with an injury. Eli Mara and tournament MVP Riley Barker opened up the game in the second half to seal the victory. Clayton captured third place with a victory over Tamanawanis and Enver Creek finished 4th.

2009 The “Classic” was highlighted by the play of the White Rock Christian Warriors. Although the tournament had many exciting games no one was able to match the hard work and size of the Warriors. MVP Riley Barker proved to be too much for the Fleetwood Dragons in the championship game. The Dragons battled through a series 3ofPage Final High Res toughBanner opponentsAd: to get to the finals. Southridge, impressive throughout, claimed 3rd place and were led by the tournament's most inspirational player Jorden Yee.

2007 The 2007 RCMP Classic witnessed an improbable comeback in the championship final. Trailing by 11 points and entering the 4th quarter, the Elgin Park Orcas seized control and went on to finish with a stunning come-from-behind 76-69 victory over the foul plagued White Rock Christian Warriors. This was Elgin Park's first RCMP title. Dakota Russell was named the tournament MVP. The Kwantlen Park Timber Wolves ended up in third place for their highest-ever finish.

seconds left to put the Wildcats up by one. The Warriors were unable to respond. White Rock, was led by first team all stars, Tyus Allen (23 points) and Jake Newman (20 points). Enver Creek Cougars, led by all star, Rajan Rai, captured 3rd place with a convincing 71-57 victory over Southridge Storm (5th). Princess Margaret took 4th place. In the Pool B Final the Kwantlen Park Timberwolves mounted an exciting last minute comeback to defeat the Semiahmoo Totems 74-72.

events history. Six of the final seven games were decided by 4 points or less with two going into overtime. The finale, watched by over 800 fans, evolved into a defensive showcase as the White Rock Christian Warriors defeated Enver Creek Cougars, 57-53. The victory gave the Warriors their fifth straight title. In the semi-finals, White Rock needed overtime in a controversial finish to slip past Fleetwood Park, 69-66 while Enver Creek qualified with a narrow 76-73 win over the Elgin Park Orcas.

2006 The 15th edition of the RCMP Classic will go down as one of the most competitive ever. The semi finals were both nailbiters with White Rock edging out Enver Creek by a single point while Fleetwood needed overtime to get past Elgin Park. Unfortunately for Enver Creek they lost the services for the season of their top rebounder and top defensive player in the White Rock game but went on to capture third place with a convincing 72-54 victory. Fleetwood battled, in spite of serious foul trouble, but in the end they were unable to topple the Warriors. White Rock's Matt Wirch demonstrated some late heroics to finish the Dragons, 66-60. Ravi Athwal was named tournament MVP.

2002 The White Rock Christian Warriors knocked off the upstart Fraser Valley Christian Falcons 76-55 to capture their fourth successive RCMP tournament crown. Donald Burton led the Warriors and was named the tourney MVP. Jordan Craig (47 points in the semi finals) and Sean Stewart were named to the All Star team. The Falcons had earlier stunned the Enver Creek Cougars with an upset overtime win, 92-81. David Bron and Kyle Kooger led the Falcons. 2001 The streak continues! A well distributed scoring attack headed by BC's most talented player and the tournament's repeat MVP Kyle Wilson helped lead David Craig's White Rock Christian Warriors to their 3rd straight championship over Fleetwood Park, who were sparked by the play of the tournament's “most inspirational player", Kamil Rylek.

2005 The White Rock Christian Warriors regained the title of champions with a convincing 87-58 victory over Enver Creek Cougars. Tyrell Mara averaged 36 points per game and was named the Classic's MVP. White Rock Christian went on to be crowned the BC Provincial Champions in March. The Cougars cruised to the finals with victories over Kwantlen Park, Earl Marriott, and Fleetwood Park. They were led by the outstanding play of all star, Darren Deol.

2000 The White Rock Christian Warriors won their second consecutive title with a convincing 103-51 victory over Semiahmoo. The tournament's MVP, Kyle Wilson led the attack and was aided by first team All Star Zack Hogan and second team All Star Sean Stewart.

2004 The 2004 Classic resulted in the 1999 The White Rock Christian Warriors emergence of a new champion, the Enver emerged as champions with a convincing Creek Cougars. Tournament MVP Dalbir 84-73 win over the North Surrey Spartans. Dosanjh erupted for 13 points in the White Rock went on to become the BC fourth quarter to boost the Cougars to a Champions. The Totem trio of Andy Lynn (MVP), Jeff Kendal and Greg Zemrav, powered the team to the championship.

1994 The tournament was truly a “classic”. The semi-final and final games were all nailbiters to the final buzzer before Queen Elizabeth emerged victorious over North Surrey in overtime, 82-71. T.J. Khanghura led the QE attack but was up against the MVP performance of North Surrey's Jeremy Newness. 1993 Frank Hurt was again the surprise with their aggressive pressing style and captured the title with a 87-78 victory over Guildford Park. The Hornets were lead by tournament MVP Byron Sowinski. 1992 The inaugural “Classic” of 1992 was held at Queen Elizabeth Secondary. The Semiahmoo Totems, led by MVP Jake McCallum defeated Frank Hurt in the final 63-36. The individual tournament standout was Mike Wagner of Pacific Academy with a 28 point average.

Junior Tournament History 2012 Panorama Ridge Thunder captured their first ever RCMP Classic Championship upsetting the Fleetwood Park Dragons, 54-43 in the 2012 final. Tournament MVP Nimrit Plaha and first team all star Parambir Bring led the Thunder to victories over Sullivan Heights (67-44), Johnston Heights (50-29) and Fraser Heights (46-38). The Dragons advanced to the finals behind first team all stars Karamveer Virdi and Arjun Dhadda with convincing victories over LA Matheson (63-20), Princess Margaret (63-33) and Tamanawis (61-54). 2011 The White Rock Christian Warriors captured their first junior title with a convincing 58-33 victory over the Enver Creek Cougars. White Rock was led by tournament MVP Tyus Allen, all stars Vartan Tanielan and Sam Ykema. The Warriors advanced with victories over Clayton Heights, Panorama Ridge and Lord Tweedsmuir. Enver Creek was led by all stars David Ahmad and Nick Jhauj. Enver advanced with victories over LA Matheson, Princess Margaret and Fleetwood Park. The Lord Tweedsmuir Panthers captured 3rd place. 2010 The Tamanawis WIldcats won their 3rd RCMP Junior banner with an impressive 66-32 victory over the Fleetwood Dragons. The Wildcats were seldom challenged throughout the tournament. Ravjot Dhaliwal was named the tournaments MVP. Enver Creek Cougars captured third place. 2009 The Enver Creek Cougars moved back atop the pecking order after winning an exciting but defensive championship. The impressive Cougars rolled to 3 easy victories before being challenged by Clayton Heights. EC jumped out to a large early lead but went stone cold for most of the 4th quarter. A huge steal and basket by Tournament MVP, Parvez Jhaj, sealed the championship, 42-38. Clayton advanced to the final with wins over Panorama, Kwantlen Park and third place finisher, Princess Margaret Lions.

2008 The Clayton Heights Night Riders captured their first RCMP Classic banner with a 52-39 victory over Princess Margaret Lions. The Night Riders upset Fleetwood Park in the semi finals, 51-46 to advance to the championship game. The final was never in doubt as Clayton Heights built up a huge early lead.

2005 The second annual RCMP tournament saw the host Tamanawis Wildcats win a hard fought battle defeating Elgin Park Orcas, 57-54. Elgin led throughout most of the game before running into foul trouble. Theo Clearsky finished the game with 29 points including the gaming winning trey and was named the tournament MVP. 2004 Eight schools entered the inaugural Junior Boys’ RCMP Basketball Classic. The Enver Creek Cougars, #3 in BC, dominated the Classic with convincing victories over Semiahmoo, White Rock Christian and Lord Tweedsmuir. The Cougars were led by MVP Paul Samra and All Star Kyle Grewal.

Arun Cheema was named the tournament’s MVP. 2006 The Kwantlen Park Timberwolves earned the title of champions with a convincing win over the Tamanawis Wildcats. The Timberwolves’ road to the championship included victories over Earl Marriott, Princess Margaret, and White Rock Christian. They were led by the solid play of both Justin Cabatuando and Gagan Randhawa.
