When shopping for a duvet, your first step is to choose the type of filling you want: natural or synthetic. Among the natural fibres, goose or duck down are the most popular. Very warm and light, down allows good air circulation, is insulating, and absorbs humidity. The higher the percentage of down content, the more the duvet will be lighter, fluffier, comfortable, and insulating. Goose down is the softest and fluffiest of all.

Synthetic fibres are usually composed of polyester and absorb more humidity.
