Duncan Barnett seeks the NDP nomination for Cariboo North AUTUMN MacDONALD Observer Reporter Duncan Barnett has thrown his proverbial hat in the ring as MLA for Cariboo North. Barnett is seeking NDP candidacy status (deadline Jan. 20, 2013.) The long-time rancher speaks passionately about natural resources and land management. “I am a proponent for adding value to our re-
sources,� he said. “We have a wealth of them here – agriculture, forestry, oil and gas, tourism – so make use of them, don’t just export.� Barnett comes from a strong agriculture background – majoring in agricultural economics. From there, Barnett co-ordinated the Interior Wetlands Program, was the regional co-ordinator for Duck Unlimited Canada, held title of manager
