PRINCE RUPERT - A Prince Rupert woman has lost her life following after being hit by a vehicle downtown on Sunday evening. According to Prince Rupert RCMP, the accident happened at 6:10 p.m. on Dec. 2 at the corner of Third Ave. and 8th Street, between Overwaitea and the Nisga’a’ Hall. RCMP are reminding people that visibility can be drastically reduced due to less daylight hours and extreme weather conditions. While motorists are urged to be extra diligent, RCMP remind pedestrians to keep themselves visible by avoiding dark clothing or wearing reflective materials. As this investigation is ongoing, the Prince Rupert RCMP is asking anyone that may have information regarding this incident to contact the Prince Rupert RCMP Detachment at 250-6270700 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800222-TIPS.
