Party wreaks havoc West Shore RCMP had to shut down a party at a house on the 1100 block of Goldstream Avenue on Saturday, Oct. 27. Police received a noise complaint just before 10:30 p.m. They arrived to find about 100 drunk teenagers milling around outside of the residence, some cursing, others fighting. Police broke up the party but the house had already sustained damages, including holes in the wall, graffiti and broken pictures and art. The incident is still under investigation. No charges have been laid yet. news@goldstream gazette.com

Watch for sweet-seekers Policeman Noah, 3, and Iron Man Kyle Spruston, 5, may knock on your door tonight to celebrate Halloween with some old-fashioned trick or treating. Drivers should use extra caution as the streets fill with youngsters today and tonight seeking sweet treats.
With hundreds of pint-sized witches and superheroes running around dark streets, here’s a list of tips to ensure kids are safe. • Incorporate visibility aids in all costumes. • Make sure your child’s vision isn’t limited by a mask. • Ensure your child’s costume isn’t a tripping hazard. • Travel in groups and stay in well-lit neighbourhoods. • Look both ways before crossing the street using intersections and crosswalks. • A B.C. Transit bus is a safe place to go for help if a child gets separated from the group.
