Better Bones Chair Aerobics: Wanting to begin an exercise program and don’t know where to start? This program is for you. Join us for this fun, social interactive workout all based from a chair. This program is also designed for those who have osteoporosis and those at risk. Come and exercise in a safe environment.

Boot Camp: This class helps to build confidence, strength and physical stamina. Participants are challenged to push the boundaries of their endurance in order to reach their fitness and health goals.

Core Conditioning: Challenge your strength, balance & agility using the stability ball, dumbells & your body weight.

HIIT: High Intensity Interval training revs up the fat burning process. The first portion of class is short and intense cardio. Second half is full body strength training to challenge your power and endurance.

Jarita's Boot Camp: Come get a killer workout. Different styles and advanced new techniques to work your Booty to the core! Great for all levels, tones and builds.

Line Dancing: Challenge the mind and body and have fun. Variety of music. Beginners welcome.

Pedal Power: Everyone finishes first in Pedal Power.

Perform endurance drills, core exercises, climb mountains and spin your way to burning calories and strengthening your lower body. This 40 minute cycle program is geared for anyone that can ride a bike.

PBS: Posture, Balance and Strength. Keep moving and discover your strength through core exercises. A great class for beginners, seniors and participants that may be doing rehabilitation. Class includes the use of dumbbells, tubing, and balls.

Power Walking: Indoor power walking inside the Northills Mall. 45 minute class to increase your cardiovascular fitness.

Rear Attitude: This class is all about the lower half of the body. You’ll need attitude to get through this challenging class.

Spin + Pump: Flat roads, hills, and drills will have you cycling and burning calories. Second half is all about toning the upper body and core.

Step: This class never goes out of style. Using a step platform, you will get a great cardio workout and burn calories.

High Energy Step: For those who love high energy and challenging routines. Not recommended for beginners.

Step N' Sculpt: A great combination of step and toning.

Strength & Power: A multi functional resistance training class. Great for breaking plateaus in your own program and making strength gains from week to week. Great for participants looking for a challenge!

Tabata: This program can be completed in as little as 4 minute intervals. This high intensity interval training offers more health benefits than traditional cardio exercises.

TRX & Cardio: The ultimate workout class! Try 30 minutes of the TRX Suspension Training System, along with an intense 30 minute heart pumping cardio session. A combination of Hatha, Ashtanga, and Power Yoga. A practise of yoga asanas, leading into Phrases of Yoga Poses Woven together with Breath. Emphasis is on proper alignment. All fitness levels are welcome although some experience with yoga is helpful. The instructor will offer options during class in order to keep your personal practice safe and effective. Restorative yoga is a type of hatha yoga used to trigger the parasympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for balancing the body. This class is slow, deeply nurturing and suitable for all ages- particularly those with chronic pain or limitations.

Includes yogic breathing, seated and lying postures, guided and silent relaxation, and meditation. Depending on the needs of the participants, variations of standing postures may be taught with chairs or the walls for support where needed.

Beginning a yoga practice as a senior or continuing, yoga strengthens bones, reduces aches and pains, boosts immunity, tones organs, improves and helps manage stress.

Participants will experience a modern approach to training in the traditional forms of yoga and pilates from a fitness perspective. Space is limited. Sign up 1/2 hour before class.

Bubblers (Duck) Parent assisted. The child will become acquainted with breath control, floats, surface support and various movements through the water.

L’IL DIPPERS (3 - 5 years) Bobbers (Swimkids 1/Seaturtle) The child will be introduced to the water, bobbing and assisted front and back floats.

Floaters (Swimkids 2/Salamander / Sunfish) The child will be introduced to front and back floats, front and back glide, and 3 m swim on front and back.

Gliders (Swimkids 2/Crocodile) The child will be introduced to side kicking, deepwater, and build endurance for front and back flutter kick.

CHILDREN WHO WITNESS ABUSE

• is non crisis intervention • is a community based program with the goal to interrupt or break the cycle of intergenerational abuse • has both group and individual counselling for children and youth ages 5-19 • provides individual support, parent education and parallel groups for non offending caregivers • Changing the Cycle a support group for caregivers of children who have witnessed abuse • SAVVI an Art Therapy group for girls 13-16 who have witnessed abuse

Y WOMEN'S EMERGENCY SHELTER

HELP GIVE A WOMEN AND HER CHILDREN THE CHANCE TO MAKE A NEW START.

• provides safe supportive refuge for women, with or without children, who have experienced or are at risk of abuse, threats or violence.

• help navigate the legal, health, employment, housing, immigration and social service systems • advocacy for women and their children • onsite Family Support Worker and Child & Youth Support Worker • offers residential or phone support 24/7 • support and activities for children • referrals to other agencies or other Transition Houses in Canada • available for presentations on family violence and the effects on children

Donations of goods, new and gently used, and financial support help to provide women and children the support they need to live violence free.
