Relieved to know he is not a flasher There was nothing perverted about a man dropping his pants in the area of an Aberdeen school playground last month. Kamloops Mounties say they tracked down the 68-year-old man who had creeped out parents of kids playing near Pacific Way elementary on two occasions in July. RCMP Staff Sgt. Grant Learned said the man, in Kamloops from India visiting family, told investigators he was simply urinating in public — and he didn’t see what the big deal was as the practice is, apparently, common in the Asian country. Learned said officers explained to the man “the gravity of the allegations of him dropping his pants” and he has agreed to stop. According to Learned, the man is scheduled to return to India this week.

Conservative MP offers Kamloops a liberal dose of rock and roll

Tony Clement (right), Treasury Board president and Conservative MP for Parry SoundMuskoka in Ontario, jams with Mike Miltimore of Lee’s Music. Clement was in Kamloops on Wednesday, Aug. 1, and visited the venerable Battle Street music store to sample Miltimore’s new Riversong guitar line. Miltimore’s guitars were the focus of his entry earlier this year in the BDC Young Entrepreneur contest, in which he finished second, receiving $25,000 to help market and produce his product.
