As with every year, the fabulous Parksville Canada Day Parade will wind its way down the Island Highway toward the Community Park and the spectacular Thrifty Foods Fireworks Show goes at dusk and there are hours and hours of family fun filling every minute in between.

QUALICUM BEACH

The festivities in Qualicum Beach will begin with a parade getting underway at 11:30am from the parking lot adjacent to the Old Schoolhouse at Fern and Memorial continuing to the Legion grounds at Veterans Way where the ceremonies start at Noon.

Festivities will commence with an address by Mayor Teunis Westbroek, singing of the national anthem and the cutting of a beautiful cake provided by Quality Foods at 2:15pm.

There will be face-painting, games, food and fun throughout the afternoon with musical entertainment.

The Bowser festivities are expanding this year with the traditional activities plus a car show running from 11 am to 5pm.

Entertainment from the Arrowsmith Pipe Band at 1:30pm and Jessica Kelly will sing O Canada and a few others songs, with the formal cake cutting at 3pm.
