Weâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;re pleased with the progress, but we still have a long way to go, and some tough projects are coming up that will hinder visibility and move traffic flow around the shopping centre.

A lot of thought and preparation go into the decisions we make and your safety, convenience and comfort are top of mind. And we promise, it will all be well worth the wait.

Coming up: &4$"-"503 3&1-"$&.&/5 130+&$5 The escalators by London Drugs and Ben Moss are being replaced with new equipment. These escalators are old and tired so we retired them on May 28, and by November, new escalators will be operational.

In October 2011, we installed two additional sets of escalators and a new elevator. This improved our movement between floors, and we hope you get a chance to try our new â&#x20AC;&#x153;vertical transportationâ&#x20AC;? soon.

For this project, a large scaffold similar to what you have recently seen in the centre, will be installed in three stages starting near The Bay. Rest assured there will always be a well-marked, designated pathway for customers. All you have to do is follow the signage and head to your favourite shop or service in this area. They are open for business.

The Guildford team want you to know, youâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;re important, and they really appreciate your patience during construction.

The main team breaks into sub-teams, each with their own set of priorities, such as the housekeeping team. Added duties mean this team is on-site by 5am, working diligently to clear construction dust and debris from glass, floors, escalators and storefronts, assisting affected retailers, and polishing the centre back to a sparkling finish by 10am when shoppers arrive.

Guildfordâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s security team is diligent about safety, demonstrating approved first aid practices, and maintaining control of a very active construction site. This team ensures only authorized workers are on-site, and if a retailer is affected by construction and the store has to be accessed, the security team oversees the work, giving retailers extra peace of mind.

Guildfordâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s customer service and management teams do routine walks checking for clarity of signage, answering questions and addressing concerns, as well as being pro-active regarding any potential problems.

Thatâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s why IvanhoĂŠ Cambridge chose the experience of The Ledcor Group of Companies to head up the project for Guildford Town Centre.

Ledcorâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s construction manager Dana Buchart said people may not know this, but because his crew canâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t work inside the shopping centre during store hours, thereâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s plenty of nightlife in the centre. â&#x20AC;&#x153;Itâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s kind of like Disney. You donâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t see what happens at night, but an army of people are engaged,â&#x20AC;? said Dana. â&#x20AC;&#x153;If you tour the mall between 9pm and 5am, you would observe areas sealed off and the centre transformed into a full-on construction site with up to 90 crew members. Itâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s amazing, working together with the Guildford team, itâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s pretty much all cleaned up by 7am for the mall walkers.â&#x20AC;?
