It is therefore encouraging to report that the Group recorded no fatalities or major accidents during this period a reflection of the discipline, awareness, and commitment demonstrated by our teams on the ground In this edition, we also reflect on the growing impact of the US-Iran conflict on the global and South African economy Rising fuel prices continue to place pressure on both the transport and energy sectors, adding strain to an already challenging economic environment While global uncertainty remains unpredictable, this period reminds us of the importance of remaining disciplined, cost-conscious, and operationally resilient as a business. Renowned engineering specialists Keon Engineers and leading design firm Muse Architects & Interior Designers have come on board, bringing national expertise, technical excellence, and innovative thinking towards the project.
This collaboration marks a significant milestone for BLACKMAGiC Projects as the business continues to strengthen its capabilities and expand its long-term infrastructure ambitions . With experienced professionals now forming part of the journey, the project is gaining strong momentum and reinforcing the Group’s commitment to operational growth, industrial innovation, and world-class development standards.
Beyond infrastructure, this expansion foreshadows something even greater the potential birth of a future BLACKMAGiC Construction Business Unit. BMT CONTINUES TO BUILD MOMENTUM IN THE ENERGY SECTOR
BLACKMAGiC Tech (BMT) continues to position itself as an emerging force within the energy and battery storage industry, with recent developments reflecting strong operational momentum, growing industry recognition, and expanding market confidence in its sodium battery solutions
As part of its ongoing commitment to industry collaboration and technical excellence, the BMT team recently provided product training sessions for Siemens and Transnet in Richards Bay These engagements created an opportunity to showcase the capabilities and applications of BMT’s energy solutions while strengthening relationships with key industry stakeholders. In addition, the Business Unit successfully received new battery stock, further supporting growing operational demand and future project readiness
Building on this momentum, BMT recently completed the delivery of 100 batteries to Vodacom a significant milestone that reflects the growing confidence major organisations are placing in the Business Unit’s products and capabilities The delivery reflects BMT’s growing footprint in the energy storage market and its ability to execute at scale
The Business Unit has also secured a major industry opportunity after being invited to present at the Valterra Platinum ECOP (Electrical Community of Practice) Q2 Event taking place on 22 May The invitation comes after strong interest shown by Valterra Platinum in BMT’s sodium battery technology and its potential impact within the mining sector
Craig and Irvine will lead a 60-minute presentation to members of South Africa’s mining community, where BMT will showcase its innovative battery solutions and share insight into the future of energy storage within industrial operations
This invitation represents more than a presentation it signals growing recognition of BMT as a serious innovator within the market and creates a powerful platform to position the Business Unit as a disruptive force within the battery and energy sector

Anna joins the team as a highly accomplished security and safety professional with more than two decades of industry experience spanning local and international environments Her career includes service as a former member of the South African Police Service, with over 8 years" sounds better operating within a high-level Security Operations Centre in Iraq experience that has shaped her disciplined, strategic, and hands-on approach to risk management and operational excellence.
Her expertise extends across close protection, occupational health and safety, emergency medical response, electronic security systems, training, and team leadership Throughout her career, Anna has successfully managed operations in corporate, retail, and high-risk international settings while consistently maintaining high safety and compliance standards Beyond the security sector, Anna also owned and operated Colon Health Clearwater, where she combined her clinical knowledge with a passion for client care, wellness, and professional service delivery further reflecting her peoplecentred leadership approach
