About the Black Jaguar Foundation The Black Jaguar Foundation (BJF) is a grassroots non-profit organization realizing the Araguaia Biodiversity Corridor in Brazil, by planting native trees to restore degraded lands. Currently we are planting our first million native trees, as a starting point to restore the balance between nature and mankind. With a core team of 17 people, largely working from Brazil, the BJF carries out all aspects of the operation: from the fundraising, marketing, and communication all the way to the implementation of the ecological restoration in the region. About the opportunity The Communication Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining and updating our communication channels and sharing what’s happening at BJF with the outside world. Your focus is to keep our community positively involved, engaged and up to date about our progress and mission. The BJF employs a range of different tools to realize this: you’ll keep all information organized and make sure our channels are at full speed. About you If you have great affinity with the BJF’s work and a positive and energetic attitude to help us realise our mission you will be a great addition to our team! Besides being passionate about the preservation of our planet, you will need to be passionate about writing, a team player, and a person of flexibility. A lot of your work will be ad-hoc, so you need to be organized and able to plan ahead but accommodate unexpected affairs. Design skills and awareness of Marketing and Fundraising strategies is desirable; however, a key skill will be the ability to adapt and a willingness to learn. We operate with a small but passionate team so you will need to work intuitively and as part of this team. A lot of the times you will need to work autonomously, and you require assertiveness and a can-do mentality. We hope you are not afraid of technology, as most of the work is done digitally.
