VALIDATION
Validation is a process that is crucial in allowing for effective restoration. This process helps the field team decide which areas to restore, and how to restore these with the crucial biodiversity planning. Following the completion of the mapping process, our validation team visits each site to validate its restoration potential.
Currently, our validation team consists of 5 restoration analyts: Ingrid da Silva Almeida, Marina Costa de Sousa, Yandro Santa Ataide and Ygor Pinto Oliveira. During visits to the mapped areas to be restored, they assess four main factors:

ACCESS TO THE AREA VEGETATION COVER AND LAND USE

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE REGION
Biodiversity Planning

Based on the above factors, validation helps define which of the mapped areas can indeed be restored, and determine which method of restoration is best.

After validation, there is a calculation of the total restorable area that the BJF can restore using one of its five restoration methods.
