Dear Members of the Black Hills Homebuilders Association,

I hope this message finds you all well and energized for the year ahead! As your president, I am excited to share that the 2025 New Year is already off to a fantastic start for our association

We kicked off January with a wonderful Mayor’s Night Social, where we had the privilege of hearing from our local mayors. It was inspiring to discuss the positive changes they are implementing in the building industry, and we are committed to keeping our partnership with them strong. Collaborating with local government is essential for our growth, and we are eager to work together to navigate the challenges and opportunities ahead.

Last week, we hosted a very successful New Member Happy Hour at our office, which was a great opportunity to connect with our new members. Our goal this year is to engage with each of you and continue to grow our association, fostering a vibrant community that supports one another

Looking ahead, we are excited to have several of our members joining us in Las Vegas for the International Builder Show the last week in February This event promises to be an excellent opportunity for networking and learning about the latest trends in our industry

Additionally, I am thrilled to announce that this year’s Home Show will be larger than ever before! It is officially going to be the biggest Home Show we have ever hosted, and we cannot wait to see all of you getting involved and participating in our upcoming events.

Thank you for your continued support and commitment to our association. Together, we can achieve great things in 2025 and beyond!

Warm regards

Dear Members,

As we embark on the month of March, I find myself praying for warmer weather this spring! I’m excited to invite you to get out of the cold and attend the Black Hills Home Builders Home Show, taking place from March 28 through the 30th at the Monument. This year’s show promises to be the largest we have ever hosted, featuring more vendors and more events than ever before.

We are thrilled to announce that there will be a fun Kidz Zone on Saturday, where children can come and make a project sponsored by Lowe’s Home Improvement. Additionally, our popular Marketplace Pop-Up is back, offering you a chance to indulge in some fun shopping. Be sure to stop by for a taste of delicious cheesecake and freshly roasted coffee! We have over 80 local businesses to shop with in the Ice Arena.

None of this would be possible without the support of our members and sponsors who have placed their trust in us to put on this event. We’re looking forward to breaking records with this Home Show, but we know it takes a village to make it happen. I encourage you to visit our Facebook page, share the event, and click “Going.” The more organic word we can spread, the better!

In addition to the Home Show, one of my biggest goals for 2025 is to start building a team of volunteers for our upcoming events. If you have an hour to spare here and there, we would greatly appreciate your help. We are looking for volunteers to assist with upcoming events like: the Kid Zone, take tickets at the Parade of Homes, helping us with kid’s projects at our local schools and libraries and supporting our community efforts. Together, we can make a bigger impact in our community this year. If you want to be added to the volunteer list- email Executive@blackhillshomebuilders.com.

Thank you for being my village and for your continued support as we strive to grow and succeed together I look forward to seeing you at the Home Show!

ANNUAL

AMBASSADORS: Membership

"YOUR JOURNEY BEGINS WITH A WARM WELCOME!"

Dear Members,

In our last newsletter (Jan/Feb 2025), we explored what a “Spike” is, how to earn “Spike Points,” and the benefits associated with them. Simply put, a “Spike” is a current member who recruits new members to the association. Your “Spike” is the member of BHHBA who referred you for membership. They are a trusted resource and can serve as a point of contact as you begin your journey within the association. If you missed this article in our last newsletter, I encourage you to take a moment to read it.

This newsletter, I’d like to highlight our Welcome Ambassador Program. This program is designed to help new members quickly become acquainted with and actively engaged in the association while fostering a welcoming environment. If you are a recent member, you might remember receiving a welcome email from me, which named your “Spike” as well as your assigned “Welcome Ambassador.”

Welcome Ambassador’s Role

The role of a Welcome Ambassador is to provide support and mentorship, ensuring newcomers feel at home within our association. Upon joining, you will be paired with an ambassador whose wealth of experience in the association and community will be an asset to you and your business growth. They are available to assist you with questions and can help guide you to committees and areas of the association that you are most interested in becoming actively involved with. Think of your ambassador as a friendly guide, eager to help you connect with fellow members, enhance your experience, and maximize the benefits of your membership.

What to Expect

Once assigned an ambassador, you can look forward to a warm introduction as they reach out to offer support, answer questions, and invite you to upcoming events. If time allows, this could be a great opportunity to schedule a one-on-one meeting to get to know each other better. Alternatively, if a social or event is approaching, they may simply invite you to join them there. Your ambassador will also keep you informed about future events, providing an excellent opportunity to expand your professional network and cultivate new connections within the association.

Meet Your Ambassadors

We understand that meeting new people and attending events where you don’t know anyone can feel intimidating. To make you as comfortable as possible, we have JUST launched a NEW TAB under the “About Us” section on our website titled “Welcome Ambassador Committee.” This section features our current Welcome Ambassadors, along with their contact information and photos, so you can recognize them before your first meeting. This will help ensure you feel more comfortable and confident as you navigate your first events in our community.

Step Into our Community

We encourage all new members to embrace and take full advantage of this opportunity. We aim to be a partner in your journey, helping you build strong connections and supporting your path to success!

If you have any questions about the Ambassador Program, have forgotten who your Welcome Ambassador is, or wish to be considered for a Welcome Ambassador position, please don't hesitate to reach out.
