LETTER FROM THE PARADE CHAIR Dear Friends and Neighbors, It is my pleasure to welcome you to this year’s Black Hills Parade of Homes! Each year, the Parade gives our community an opportunity to step inside some of the incredible homes being built throughout the Black Hills and experience firsthand the craftsmanship, creativity, and hard work behind them. The strength of our local building industry is in its variety. From different styles and sizes to unique approaches to design and construction, each home tells a different story and represents the talent within our community. This year, we hope to showcase more of what our industry has to offer and encourage you to explore every stop along the way—you may find inspiration somewhere you least expect it. We are also excited to bring a few new additions to this year’s Parade! Our committee has been working hard behind the scenes to continue growing and improving the event, and we cannot wait to share some of those changes with you. Flagship of a New Era

HILLS VIEW HOMES INTRODUCES THE AUGUSTA AND THE 19TH AT ARROWHEAD

There is something fitting about unveiling a new home, a new collection of floor plans and an entirely new community at the Parade of Homes. At 3622 Westridge Road, Hills View Homes are introducing all three. The Augusta, this year’s Featured Home, will offer Parade of Homes visitors their first opportunity to experience one of Hills View Homes’ new Legacy Series homes—and an early look at The 19th at Arrowhead, the builder’s newest Rapid City community.

Located alongside Arrowhead Country Club, The 19th represents a new chapter for Hills View Homes: a neighborhood designed around beautiful homes, elevated finishes, extensive personalization, and a setting that feels distinctly removed from the ordinary. And the Augusta was intentionally designed to make an introduction. At 5,042 square feet, the two-story flagship plan offers the scale families expect from an estatestyle home without sacrificing the everyday spaces that make a home livable. The plan can accommodate three to six bedrooms, multiple garage configurations and more than 5,000 finished square feet when the lower level is completed. For the Featured Home, Hills View Homes is taking that flexibility even further. A four-car tandem garage, finished standard basement, and a poured-concrete RV parking pad provides room for the vehicles, hobbies and outdoor equipment that often comes with life in the Black Hills. Double front doors create a sense of arrival, while a widened 10-foot patio door connects the main living area with the outdoors.

Inside, the focus shifts from sheer size to detail. The home features stained cabinetry, granite surfaces, matte black fixtures, cafe appliances, including chef’s kitchen upgrades. A butler’s pantry—or prep kitchen—adds its own sink, cabinetry, storage and counter space, giving homeowners a secondary work area for entertaining, coffee, food preparation or simply keeping the main kitchen uncluttered. Premier tile backsplashes, under-cabinet lighting and luxury vinyl flooring carry the design throughout the home, while brushed-bronze accents add warmth to the palette.

WHERE YOU BELONG The idea behind The 19th is not simply to build larger homes, but to create a neighborhood with a sense of legacy. Hills View Homes’ plans for the community include both singlefamily homes and townhomes, with a wide variety of floor plans, layouts, architectural styles and personalization opportunities. The setting adds another dimension. Located near Arrowhead Country Club, The 19th pairs innovative new construction with an established part of west Rapid City and the lifestyle associated with countryclub living. Still, the philosophy behind it is familiar. For Hills View Homes, The 19th is the newest expression of an idea the company has pursued for years: Build more than houses. Build communities.

A Family Tradition of Building Hills View Homes grew from a family business with deep roots in the Black Hills construction industry. Marty Quinn began building in Rapid City in 2000, and his son Tanner grew up around jobsites, equipment and the day-to-day realities of construction. After college, Tanner returned to work alongside his father, and over time the family’s business expanded beyond individual building projects into excavation, landscaping, residential construction and development. That history ultimately changed the way Marty and Tanner thought about homebuilding.

Rather than participating in neighborhoods one home at a time, they saw an opportunity to shape entire communities—to create consistency in design, protect long-term value and think beyond the structure itself to the way a neighborhood would function for the people living there. That approach became a defining part of Hills View Homes. The company describes its philosophy simply: a commitment to creating communities rather than just houses, while maintaining a customer-service-first mindset. Today, that philosophy can be seen in communities serving very different homeowners across the region—from growing families and military households to Black Hills buyers seeking attainable new construction and now buyers looking for a fresh approach to elevated living.

Building Community Beyond the Jobsite

For Hills View Homes, being part of a community also means investing in it. The company has long directed a portion of its success back into local organizations and causes, partnering regularly with groups including the YMCA and the regional Habitat for Humanity chapter. Sometimes that involvement intersects directly with what Hills View Homes does best. One of the most meaningful recent examples can be found inside the company’s own Shepherd Hills community. Hills View Homes partnered with Abbott House this year to help create two homes serving foster children with intensive-care needs. The homes officially opened in June and were designed to give young people requiring significant support the experience of living in a stable neighborhood environment rather than an institutional setting.

It is difficult to imagine a more literal example of what it means to believe a home can change a life. The company has also helped turn its job sites into classrooms. Hills View Homes has hosted multiple construction camps designed to expose children to the skilled trades and the career opportunities available within them. At their 2026 Kids Construction Camps held at Rapid City and Spearfish, young participants rotated through hands-on stations alongside builders and industry professionals, learning about construction while experiencing the trades firsthand. Hills View Homes co-owner Marty Quinn said the goal was to broaden young people’s understanding of career paths available in the industry.

Those partnerships reflect values that Hills View Homes has formally identified for itself as well: service, community support, continual improvement, integrity and creating value not only for customers, but for employees, and the communities in which the company operates. For a builder, community involvement can easily become a slogan. Hills View Homes would rather make it something you can point to. A child discovering a career. A family receiving a hand up. A foster child walking through the front door of a real home in a real neighborhood. That is also community building.

One Builder. Different Ways to Live.

The 19th at Arrowhead may represent something new for Hills View Homes, but it joins a growing collection of neighborhoods designed around a simple idea: different homeowners need different kinds of communities. At Liberty Plaza, proximity to Ellsworth Air Force Base meets the feel of a smaller neighborhood. The location offers convenience for military families and anyone who wants quick access to the base and surrounding amenities while still coming home to a community with a more intimate feel. Shepherd Hills offers another interpretation of neighborhood living. Located within Rapid City, it combines access to the city with views, open surroundings, and a sense of separation from a faster pace just beyond the neighborhood. It is a “big city” convenience with a “small town" personality—and it has become a place where Hills View Homes’ commitment to community has extended well beyond the houses themselves. To the north, Sky Ridge is answering a different need. For years, buyers in the northern Black Hills have faced limited choices when searching for affordable new construction. Hills View Homes’ work at Sky Ridge is intended to help close that gap, bringing new homes and new opportunities to an area where demand has long outpaced attainable new-home options. And now comes The 19th at Arrowhead. It is different by design. More personalization. More architectural choices. Elevated materials and finishes. Generous garages and flexible living spaces. Single-family homes and townhomes in a country-club setting. But it is still part of the same larger story and values.

When Parade of Homes visitors walk through the double front doors of the Augusta, they will be seeing plenty that is new. A new flagship floor plan. A new series of homes. A new community. Our approach to building exceptional homes is to be present and accessible to our clients throughout the entirety of the building process. Jon's primary focus is on the day to day aspects of the build including daily job site direction, managing specialized workers, as well as the tracking and handling all budgetary items. Megan is available to assist the client in navigating the overall aesthetics of the home, ensuring their vision is captured to the fullest extent possible. This parade home was a custom build for clients of CCH. When planning the design several creative visions played out, it was important for the clients to carry finishes from inside out. You will see this vision play out in the color scheme and materials used. Warm natural wood is throughout the home with real cedar shake used on the exterior and exquisite alder cabinetry throughout the interior. The wood burning fireplace showcases the same stone facade as the exterior accents. The larger than life kitchen with its oversize island is artfully accented by the Chantilly quartzite counters that adorns every surface. The biggest (literally) thing a visitor may not notice is 14 foot tall, 12 inch thick engineered concrete wall holding the garage up on the hillside. There is a huge footer underneath the ground that will ensure the house never moves. There is also a hidden pantry in the kitchen. CCH enjoys the creativity and challenge of building the perfect home that our clients are proud to show off. What makes that even better is gorgeous backdrop to the home. Our favorite feature in this home: the 16 foot wide sliding door to the deck that offers breathtaking views of the Mickelson Trail and the valley below. Our favorite design trend is: Not so much a trend but more a way of life, we love to design our homes to lean into natural light and capture the beauty that our surroundings have to offer. Our favorite thing about living and building in the hills: is the challenge that building in all four seasons give us.

Matte finishes are sticking around, while waterproof flooring has become less of a trend and more of a practical response to real life. Ultra-dark floors and the cool bluegray tones that dominated a few years ago are giving way to warmer, more natural finishes. Translation: your house doesn't have to look like everyone else's house to feel current.

One of Altimate's favorite projects began with homeowners planning to replace the hardwood in an older Sturgis home. During the site visit, the team discovered the existing floor was original quarter-sawn oak with beautiful grain and historic character. Instead of tearing it out and selling them something new, Altimate recommended saving it. The floors were refinished and selectively repaired, and the homeowners loved the result so much that when they later built a new home, they specifically requested Altimate again. Sometimes good design isn't about buying something new. It's about recognizing what's already worth keeping.
