Letter From The President It has been a great pleasure to serve as president in 2023 and I can’t wait to see what this year holds for the association.

I would like share some of the accomplishments of our association during my presidency in 2023. I am immensely proud of what we have achieved together, and I am excited to share our successes with you.

First and foremost, I want to acknowledge the incredible staff we have at the Black Hills Home Builders Association. Their dedication, hard work, and expertise have been instrumental in our achievements this past year. Their unwavering commitment to our mission and vision has allowed us to thrive and make a positive impact on the building industry in our community.

One of the highlights from 2023 was the highly attended events we organized, such as the Home Show and the in-person Parade of Homes. These events showcased the incredible work of our members and provided a platform for the community to discover the latest trends and innovations in home construction. The success and enthusiasm surrounding these events were a testament to the talent and professionalism of our members.

Looking ahead to 2024, I am excited about the opportunities and challenges that lie before us. My focus as President will be on growing our association through various avenues. Firstly, I believe it is essential to enhance member benefits to attract new members and retain existing ones. By offering valuable resources, educational opportunities, and networking platforms, we can provide our members with the tools they need to succeed in their businesses.

Secondly, government advocacy will play a crucial role in our growth and success. It is essential that we continue to be a voice for the building industry, advocating for policies and regulations that support our members' interests. By establishing strong relationships with lawmakers and actively engaging in policy discussions, we can shape the future of our industry and create a favorable business environment for all.

Lastly, I am eager to get back to doing business with our members. After a challenging period, it is time to rebuild and strengthen our industry. As President, I am committed to fostering a sense of unity and collaboration among our membership. By organizing networking events, educational workshops, and business-focused initiatives, we can create opportunities for our members to connect, share their expertise, and thrive in their professional endeavors.

I would like to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to the Black Hills Home Builders Association for trusting me with the presidency. It has been an honor and a privilege to serve alongside such dedicated and talented individuals.

Together, we have achieved remarkable milestones, and I am confident that we will continue to grow and succeed this year.

I want to assure you that my commitment to the association and its members remains unwavering. With your support and collaboration, I am confident that we will make 2024 a year of unprecedented growth, advocacy, and success for the Black Hills Home Builders Association.

I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. As your Executive Vice President, I wanted to take the opportunity to outline my goals for the association in the year 2024. With a focus on membership, public relations, government advocacy, and creating engaging events, I believe we can further strengthen our position as a leading association in the building industry.

1. Membership: One of my primary goals for 2024 is to increase membership in the Black Hills Home Builder Association. By reaching out to local builders and contractors, as well as engaging with industry professionals through targeted marketing campaigns and networking events, we can entice new members to join our community.

2. Public Relations and Growing our Presence in the Community:

To further solidify our position as a respected organization in the community, I aim to enhance our public relations efforts. This includes creating a comprehensive media relations strategy to increase our presence in local newspapers, radio stations, and online platforms. Additionally, I believe it is crucial to actively engage with the community through participation in local events, sponsorships, and charitable activities. By strengthening our ties with the community, we can showcase the value and expertise our association offers to the public.

3. Government Advocacy in the Building Industry: Advocacy is essential to protect the interests of our members and the building industry as a whole. In 2024, I plan to strengthen our government advocacy initiatives by establishing stronger relationships with local, state, and national lawmakers. This includes organizing meetings, attending hearings, and actively engaging in policy discussions to ensure the interests of our members are represented. By becoming a trusted voice in the building industry, we can influence legislation that positively impacts our industry and its professionals.

4. Creating Fun and Exciting Events for the Association: Lastly, I believe it is vital to create fun and exciting events for our association members. By organizing social gatherings, educational workshops, and industry-specific conferences, we can provide valuable networking opportunities while keeping our members engaged and enthusiastic about the association. These events will not only foster camaraderie among members but also provide a platform to showcase their expertise and promote the industry as a whole.

In conclusion, I am committed to working tirelessly towards achieving these goals for the Black Hills Home Builder Association in 2024. With a focus on membership growth, public relations, government advocacy, and creating engaging events, we can position ourselves as a leading association in the building industry, while fostering a strong sense of community among our members.

Corinne is a Soft Ball Coach Corinne’s favorite place on Earth is Alaska in the Summer.

Corinne has visited 48 of 50 States.

Her husband says she’s the master of holding three conversations at the same time.

Corinne was born and raised in the Black Hills but briefly ventured away after graduating with her Marketing degree in 2010 from Black Hills State University. In 2015, after living in 4 states in 5 years, and running direct marketing events across the country, Corinne made her way back to the Black Hills to settle in. Since returning to the hills, she’s worked in several different facets which include event planning, recruiting, HR, business management, and now her one true love…Business Development and Marketing! Corinne loves creating and building relationships with local business owners, assessing their needs, and their goals, and then mixing it all together to make a stellar marketing plan. One of Corinne’s greatest strengths is her ability to listen carefully to her clients and truly understand their needs. Corrine joined Home Builders in 2023 and immediately became active on the Home Show Committee. She has stepped up to help the association in our goals to elevate our marketing.

2024 Pub Crawl Annual Fundraiser to Give Back to Two Local Families:

Six-week-old, Brody Hall, was rushed to the ICU at Rapid City Regional Hosptial and intubated for 40 days. Doctors realized he was deteriorating, and life flighted him to Denver Childrens. It was there, that after extensive testing, they diagnosed him SMA Stage 1, which is a disease that has no real cure. He is currently still at the Childrens Hospital, 6 months later and hoping to be home by Christmas. His family was forced to relocate to the area to be closer to him and learn how to care for him. He will need round the clock care and a wheel-chair accessible vehicle.

Tyler Jackson, a 6 year South Dakota State Trooper, was in a serious boat explosion July 3rd in Alaska. He was sedated immediately and life flighted to Seattle. He spent a week in Seattle Washington and in that time he accumulated $350,000 in medical bills and was unable to go back to work for one month. When he made his way back to work his hands were still severely burned with restricted mobility and his face was still healing showing many burn marks. This quickly became a mental game as he was asked numerous times what happened triggering the sound, smell, fear, and pain from the explosion.

Jackson is the brother- in-law to member Matt Pourier.
