Each year, more than 200 students receive financial assistance from Blackhawk Foundation scholarships. Specific scholarships and their descriptions are listed below. A list of all scholarships is found on the back page. Every student is encouraged to complete the online scholarship application process for consideration.
New and current students apply online for scholarships using the online scholarship portal or by visiting: www.blackhawk.edu/FoundationScholarships and clicking on “Apply for Scholarships.”
• Foundation online scholarship applications are due on May 15 for Fall semester awards.
• Foundation online scholarship applications are due on October 15 for Spring semester awards.

Anna Schenker Memorial Scholarship
An award of $1,000 to a student each fall pursuing any Blackhawk program.

An award of $250 to a student each fall pursuing any Blackhawk program.
Blackhawk Golden K Kiwanis of Janesville Scholarship
$500 scholarship awarded every semester to one (1) student in any program.
Blackhawk Tech Faculty Federation Endowed Scholarship
An award of $1,500 to four (4) students every semester pursuing any Blackhawk program.
BTC Foundation Scholarship
$500 scholarship awarded every semester to multiple students in any program.
BTC High School Scholarships
An award of $500 to Rock and Green County high school graduating seniors who have committed to attend Blackhawk each fall pursuing any Blackhawk program.
Diversity Scholarship
An award of $250 to $1,000 to underrepresented students each fall pursuing any Blackhawk program, funded in part by the annual Soul Food Luncheon.
Elizabeth Woodruff Scholarship
An award of $250 to two (2) students each fall pursuing any Blackhawk program.
Francis and Barbara Stauner Memorial Scholarship
An award of $1,000 to a student each fall pursuing any Blackhawk program.
Fred & Vera Jess Memorial Scholarship
An award of $500 to a student each fall pursuing any Blackhawk program.

An award of $500 to a student each fall pursuing any Blackhawk program.

An award of $500 to two (2) non-traditional students every semester pursuing any Blackhawk program.
Literacy Connection Fund for Adult Literacy Endowment Fund Scholarship
An award of $500 to a GED graduate student each fall pursuing any Blackhawk program.

WHO We Are
The Blackhawk Foundation is the bridge between the generosity of donors (community supporters, alumni, and businesses) to our students, faculty, and the College by providing resources necessary to make college possible for all. The Foundation Team consists of Lisa Hurda, Director of Advancement & Foundation, and Lenny Behnke, College Advancement & Foundation Assistant.
WHAT We Do
The Blackhawk Foundation provides student assistance through scholarships and emergency assistance awards as well as through investment in facilities and resources that enable student success.
The Blackhawk Foundation accepts in-kind donations from area businesses on behalf of the College. In 2023, the Foundation accepted $95,856 of in-kind gifts, including necessary technology and supplies for our manufacturing and medical programs of study.
