What’s Happening?
This annual event will convene community members, advocates, nonprofit organizers, policymakers, researchers, and students over the course of four days for an in-depth examination of ongoing environmental, climate, and energy justice issues. The last three days of the symposium will focus on issues specifically affecting the Mid-Atlantic region with a special spotlight on Baltimore, while the first day (virtual) will examine issues in a national and international context.
Registration Information
As the Center for Engagement, Environmental Justice, and Health (CEEJH INC) transitions to an independent nonprofit, we are implementing a registration fee structure for our 2025 symposium. Historically, the symposium was offered free of charge, supported by resources from major donors. However, to sustain the quality and accessibility of our programming, we find it necessary to introduce modest fees to help cover event-related expenses.
OUR FEE STRUCTURE IS DESIGNED TO BE INCLUSIVE AND EQUITABLE, REFLECTING OUR COMMITMENT TO ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE.

Last year, the Center for Engagement, Environmental Justice, and Health (CEEJH) presented an impactful symposium with the theme of Environmental Justice: Past, Present, and Future with nearly 100 sessions, and nearly 300 excellent speakers, workshop facilitators, and session moderators from around the county and the world. Over 3,500 people registered for in-person and virtual sessions including stakeholders from impacted communities worldwide, EJ groups, green groups, academia, government, policymakers, workers, and business/industry.
The CEEJH Connection
The CEEJH EJ Symposium has a rich history of connecting community leaders, advocacy groups, legal professionals, government officials, researchers, and students to promote and protect the health of communities impacted by environmental, climate, and energy injustice. The previous symposia have highlighted the work of local community organizers, leaders, advocates, and allies. This year, we will again include peer-to-peer workshops with our MidAtlantic Justice Coalition (MAJC) members partners including Centro de Apoyo Familiar, Empower DC, Overbrook Environmental Education Center, Sussex Health and Environmental Network, South Ward Environmental Alliance, and United Parents Against Lead. This year, the symposium will have 75+ sessions related to technical assistance, organizational development, capacity-building, coaching, grant writing sessions, and more.
