Should I postpone my wedding or cancel?

We say postpone. Weddings and special events are a time to celebrate, and you’ll definitely want to celebrate once we get past this pandemic issue. We have advised our brides to postpone their events to alleviate any stress. The sooner the decision is made the less stressful it will be.

What are the implications of postponing my wedding?

Check with your venues to find out what date options they have available. Review your contracts with all vendors to understand the implications of changing your date. Some contracts have clauses built into them that will help brides understand if any penalties will be incurred.

Do I keep the same guest count, or should I consider social distancing at my wedding?

If you have moved your date to 2021, reach out to your guests to evaluate attendance. For 2020 brides and clients, it is still very early to make a call, but this is a very important topic to consider. If you have to downsize, renegotiate with all your vendors. The most important thing is to understand and adhere to all safety precautions. These are unprecedented times, and we all have to work together as a community to ensure everyone’s safety and sanity.
