Information Technology has been a wonderful tool to spread the message of spirituality to remote corners of the world. It is indeed magical to see how information reaches to everyone in different cities in different parts of the world in an instant of time. IT has played a vital role in shaping the world today and also in enhancing the services of Brahma Kumaris. In times when people are facing challenges on emotional, social, psychological and physical levels and distressed with the current state of affairs, spirituality offers unique and effective solutions today’s problems. IT also means

Inner Transformation and that comes through simple spiritual understandings. It gives us the strength to feel great, no matter what! I believe that IT can become an instrument of positive changes and medium of spreading goodness around the globe. I congratulate IT Wing for taking initiatives to spread joy, peace & happiness in an environment filled with anxiety, uncertainty and insecurity. Om Shanti

In today’s fast changing World, Information Technology has brought about a digital revolution that puts challenging demands on the professionals of the industry, making work stressful and tedious rather than easy and worthwhile. This has triggered a multitude of physical and psychological illnesses in even the younger generations, who are both a key provider and major consumer of the various IT services and products.

Introduction

Innner Transformation For IT Industry

Ever since 1980s, Information Technology has been shaping the world, propelling new advancements and influencing our lives in a multitude of ways. The developments in the IT industry have revolutionized the global society, connected remote civilizations and changed every little bit of our routines. This change, which only magnified with the advent of internet, social media and e-commerce, however, has also changed the way we look at life. As the world became more reliant on technology for industrial processes, commercial operations, medical procedures, and safety and security provisions, its need for emotional, social and spiritual support also increased manifold. IT Wing, Annual Report - 2015

[3]

BK Shasha, London

Exclusive focus on technology led to a steep surge in stress, anger and impatience among people and introduced personal and professional barriers that disconnected them, thus refuting the primary purpose of IT, which was to connect the society. The IT Wing of the RERF aims at bringing about Inner Transformation in the professionals especially from the IT and allied industries to empower, enlighten and equip them to lead a more peaceful, harmonious and happy life. The Wing

Our programs have been successful in building a culture of peace and harmony, powered by spirituality among the members and delegates from the industry, who, over the time, have experimented with Rajyoga meditation and used the spiritual tools to excel in their lives.

BK Yashwant Patil, Mount Abu

employs spiritual tools and principles to create training courses and modules and regularly organizes seminars, conferences, dialogues, trainings, workshops and other events at both national and international levels. Rajyoga meditation is used as a key tool for igniting the spark of inner transformation among the participants.

BK Yashwant HQ Coordinator, IT Wing Head, IT Department Brahma Kumaris

The first computer was used at the Brahma Kumaris HQ in 1983 and the IT Department was set up under the guidance of BK Shasha, London and BK Yashwant, Mt. Abu. For a long time, the Department looked after the IT needs of the organization, envisioning the infrastructural developments. A need was felt to advance spirituality to IT professionals and that led to the formation of a Global IT Team in 2005 and India IT Team in 2008 that helped in several international initiatives of the organization. Recently in 2015, the IT services were formally organized into the IT Wing to effectively streamline all the events organized for the IT professionals.
