Preface BDIA PROUDLY PRESENTS: THE BELGIAN DIGITAL INFRASTRUCTURE GUIDE 2026 Belgium’s digital infrastructure sector continues to evolve rapidly. What was once a market driven by ambition is now increasingly defined by delivery, with new capacity coming online and international investments materialising across the country. In 2026, Belgium will further strengthen its position within the European digital landscape. With its central location, strong connectivity, and a growing ecosystem, the country is becoming a relevant hub for colocation and hyperscale development. This momentum is further accelerated by the rise

Data center typology While there are different definitions for the various types of data centers in the market, this BDIA Infrastructure Guide uses the following classifications:

Single-tenant data centers • Enterprise data center - Data centers and server rooms (50kW+ IT power) - Managed Service Provider (MSP) data centers (hosting/IT services, without customer access) - Crypto mining facilities • Hyperscale data centers - Designed and operated by hyperscalers such as AWS, Google, Microsoft, Meta, etc. - Typically exceeding 20 MW Note: Micro data centers (<50 kW) are considered out of scope.

Multi-tenant or colocation data centers • Retail colocation - Data centers that rent rack unit space, racks, cages or even complete rooms or halls, typically to customers with a contracted workload of up to 1 MW • Wholesale colocation - Data centers that rent out larger spaces, typically rooms or halls, or sometimes cages, with contracted workloads of 1 MW or above - Includes high-density AI data centers • Scale colocation - Extensive facilities that are built-to-suit and/or powered shells by colocation data center operators; typically, 20 MW or more

This Digital Infrastructure Guide 2026 is based on the fourth edition of the State of Belgian Data Centers report, for which Pb7 Research reviewed the evolution of the Belgian data center market in 2025, identified the principal trends shaping its development, and provided an outlook for the coming years. The analysis focuses primarily on colocation data centers, while also examining enterprise and hyperscale facilities in order to present a comprehensive overview of the entire ecosystem.

ABOUT Ingenium bridges ICT and Facility Management by designing efficient, sustainable data centres — both economically and ecologically sound. Data is the new gold, making data centres the beating heart of our digital world. Businesses rely on them around the clock, making Tier level grade operational reliability, flexible (neo)cloud capacity and controlled energy costs essential. As demand for data continues to grow, so does the need for smart, future-proof infrastructure. Ingenium has the expertise to link MegaBytes to MegaWatts — sustainably and efficiently inspired by the EED, EU Code of Conduct on datacenters and the Carrier Neutral Datacenter Pact.

Data centres represent the pinnacle of building technology. ABOUT Riello UPS offers a vast range of products, organised into 23 ranges of uninterruptible power supplies (UPS ), based on several different state-of-the-art technological architectures. Thanks to its two research centres in Legnago (Verona) and Cormano (Milan), world-class examples of excellence for the design, development and testing of uninterruptible power supplies, Riello UPS can constantly innovate its product portfolio, keeping it at the top in terms of performance, reliability and competitiveness. In addition, Riello UPS often provides ad hoc solutions in the event of large tenders or commissions. These solutions are based on the specifications provided, demonstrating the company’s attention to customer needs. Riello UPS designs and manufactures its UPS in Italy. This is so it can maintain direct control over quality and reliability standards, closely following the entire manufacturing process, sales and aftersales service, and provide

a process of continuous improvement, monitoring customers’ opinions and using them to make rapid adjustments to optimise features as required by the market. This process of continuous improvement, as well as having a direct effect and benefit on sales and after-sales service, helps to further consolidate Riello UPS’s image as a reliable, dynamic and quality-oriented company. It doesn’t stop here however: the solid results achieved by Riello UPS in the development of UPS solutions equipped with completely innovative and cutting-edge technologies such as SuperCaps UPS, and Smart Grid Ready UPS, i.e. ready for intelligent power distribution grids which represent the future of energy supply, are the best demonstration that innovation and quality really are the secrets of Riello UPS’s success.
