BBC Radio 4 Lent Talks ... this year’s theme is ‘hope as an active virtue’.

This will be my first feature for the new digital version of the Parish Proclaimer, courtesy of BBC Radio 4.

Lent Talks is a personal reflection inspired by an aspect of the story leading up to Easter over the last few weeks.

This year’s theme is ‘hope as an active virtue’.

The Sunday, 28 March 2021 programme, which I listened to today, is about Lieutenant Colonel Arnaud Beltrame, a gendarme who was killed three years ago by an ISIS gunman in a French supermarket after taking the place of a hostage.

On the third anniversary of his death, The Reverend Dr Lucy Winkett tells his story with reflections from his widow Marielle Beltrame.

It’s available on BBC Sounds via this link: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m000tcd2

The two presenters were Marielle Beltrame & Rev. Giles Fraser.
