AFTER REGISTRATION Review Dates & Deadlines ACTION ITEM 1. Review the Dates & Deadlines Schedule and the Academic Calendar Mark add, drop, and refund deadlines on your calendar. • Match up the Begin and End Dates listed on your class schedule with the Dates & Deadlines Schedule.

BSC provides all important dates and deadlines in two documents. •

Academic Calendar – lists school dates, such as textbook purchasing, tuition deadlines, and school breaks. Dates and Deadlines Schedule – lists classes by length as well as the add, drop, and withdraw deadlines. It also includes the last day to drop/withdraw for 100% tuition refund.

AFTER REGISTRATION Sharing Information ACTION ITEM 1. Decide if you want to share your academic or financial records with anyone else. This can be a parent or spouse or employer/funding agency. ➢ Delegated Access to CampusConnection-Allows you to give access to selected sections of CampusConnection to a third party, or proxy. For example, your parents could log in to help you pay your bill or to view your grades. ➢ FERPA Release-is a legal document allowing the release of certain information (Academic and/or Financial) to listed individuals.

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) prohibits Bismarck State College from releasing academic and financial records to anyone without written consent from you. If you would like anyone, such as parents/guardians, employers and/or Thirdparty funding agencies to have access to your academic and/or financial information complete the FERPA form to authorize the release.

Check your BSC email frequently in order to stay current with academic and financial communications as well as college events.

AFTER REGISTRATION Obtain Mystic ID Card ACTION ITEM 1. Obtain your Mystic ID Card The Mystic card is your official college identification card to be used for services such as dining, bookstore purchases, library, campus activities, local business discounts, Aquatic and Wellness Center and Mystic Print. There is no charge for the first Mystic ID Card. ID cards do not expire as long as you are a BSC student. Get your Mystic Card at the Campus Information Desk located next to the BSC Bookstore in the upper level of the Student Union. (701-224-5677) Students must present: • • •

Complete Emergency Contact Information Emergency contact information is extremely important in the event of an accident or medical emergency. The person(s) you list will be contacted if you have a health or safety emergency. You must enter a parent/guardian, spouse, family member, or other trusted individual as your emergency contact.

AFTER REGISTRATION Accept or Decline Financial Aid

ACTION ITEM 1. Accept/Decline Financial Aid. Look for your Financial Aid award communications, posted to your CampusConnection and BSC campus email. Your financial aid file needs to be completed before you can charge textbooks against your financial aid. We recommend that you do not borrow more than you need for your educational expenses. If you are unsure of how much to borrow, contact the Financial Aid Office.

AFTER REGISTRATION Complete Entrance Counseling and Loan Agreement (MPN) This only applies to students accepting loans for the first time. If you complete this for the summer semester, you will not have to complete this again for the fall semester. You must complete the Entrance Counseling and MPN before you can charge books against your financial aid or use your meal plan.

ACTION ITEMS 1. Go to Studentaid.gov 2. Complete Entrance Counseling. 3. Complete Master Promissory Note (MPN). Entrance Counseling: Before receiving a student loan, borrowers must complete an entrance counseling session. This quick and easy interactive counseling session provides useful tips and tools to help you develop a budget for managing your educational expenses and helps you to understand your loan responsibilities. Master Promissory Note (MPN): The Loan Agreement is a legal document in which you promise to repay your loan(s) and any accrued interest and fees to the U.S. Department of Education. It also explains the terms and conditions of your loan(s). Please note that your accepted Federal Student Loans will not disburse to your student account until these items are completed.

Tuition and fees on the student account are due by the first day of class. All other charges such as late fees, fines, room, board, etc. are due the date they are incurred. Student Finance starts accepting payments on January 3, 2022.
