Degrees & Programs Take advantage of the well-rounded business, law and administration programs at Bismarck State College. You’ll learn from faculty that focus on the fundamentals while fostering innovative thinking to help you shine in today’s business world. Earn a technical degree in two years or learn everything you need to move on to a four-year program. Choose from five degree and training programs: • Administrative Assistant • Criminal Justice (Technical) • Human Services/Eligibility Worker • Management (Technical) • Management Entrepreneurship Option


Administrative Assistant

Prepare for an administrative support staff position by learning the latest computer technology and a variety of software applications. Along with classroom study, you’ll also gain on-the-job experience through a cooperative education/internship program to prepare you for the workforce.

Criminal Justice (Technical)

BSC offers two years of concentrated study for those interested in Criminal Justice. You’ll gain basic knowledge of the Criminal Justice field, including law enforcement, courts and corrections. You’ll also explore issues relating to the entire system – from the nature of crime and delinquency to society’s varied response to crime.

Human Services/Eligibility Worker

During the two-year BSC Human Services program, you’ll learn how to help people improve their quality of life, change behaviors and develop a better mental outlook. While not listed as a transfer program, careful course selection can provide a transfer option into a four-year college or university. There is also a Certificate option within the Human Services program to become an Eligibility Worker employed by state and county social welfare programs to help people in financial need.

Management (Technical)

If you have dreams of one day becoming a manager, all businesses and organizations need people who are trained to get things done and to move things forward. The BSC Management program develops background for management positions in all areas of business and industry. Curriculum includes courses on fundamental business principles, sales, marketing, electronic commerce, project management, human resources and entrepreneurship.

Management Entrepreneurship Option

An entrepreneur is a person with ideas who creates, organizes and operates a business or businesses. If that sounds like you, the BSC Management Entrepreneurship option will help you develop the skills, tools and experiences necessary to successfully help create and manage new business ventures. The backbone of the curriculum focuses on successfully developing a business plan and financial analysis. Study involves a combination of general education, business and marketing coursework.
