Welcome to the world of 3D printing, where designs on your computer become physical objects. In this handson course, you’ll learn how to design for and use a 3D printer—and leave with a few custom items to show for it. Making your organization’s online material available to people with disabilities is as important as ensuring they can access your building physically. But the world of digital accessibility gets complicated fast with an array of terminology and standards. In this class, we will talk about how assistive technology (like text-to-speech apps) interacts with documents and websites, then work our way up to the nuts and bolts of ensuring accessibility. You will also receive materials to reference later, the next time an issue arises at your work.

Beginner Woodcarving
Learn the basics of woodcarving, and carving-knife safety with members of the Flickertail Woodcarvers carving club. These classes will teach specific techniques to get you started on your journey of carving. Whether you are interested in pursuing chip carving, relief work, caricature, or realism – it all starts here. Practice your push cuts, sweep cuts, and v-cuts. Observe grain directions and learn about different types of wood used in carving. Be inspired by historical or modern designs, to carve your own creations! A supply fee of $65 is payable at the time of registration and includes all materials you need to get started.

Crochet 101
It is time to discover crochet! In this class, you will learn the foundation of crochet from the chain to the double crochet stitch. Participants will learn how to chain, the single, half-double, and double crochet stitches by creating motifs that can be used as coasters or blanket squares. No prior crochet experience is needed - just patience and determination to have fun while learning! Participants will need the following supplies for class: 1 skein of Paton’s classic wool (or any worsted weight wool), one H or I crochet hook (5mm or 5.5mm), scissors, tape measure, and a blunt tip needle with a large eye (tapestry needle).
