ismarck’s masquerade ball is back! The 2019 Masks in the Moonlight event will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2019, at the Sixteen03 Main Events in Bismarck, ND. Last year, Masks in the Moonlight raised nearly $100,000 for the Bismarck Cancer Center Foundation, which is the largest amount to date. Committee member Susan Schwieters, from Lillian’s of Bismarck, has been helping with the event since the beginning and is amazed at the positive changes. “I feel that Masks has been a huge hit primarily because people were looking for a mid-winter event that was unique and special,” Schwieters said, “The masquerade component made it mystical and magical.” The money that is raised through the Masks in the Moonlight event goes directly to the patients at the Bismarck Cancer Center and helps heal the whole person, mind, body, and spirit. Sara Kelsch, marketing director at BCC, stresses the importance of the funds raised through Masks, “We serve a 250-mile radius around the
Bismarck area and the money earned goes directly to care for those things that insurance doesn’t cover.” These services include lodging and gas cards for out-of-town patients, massage therapy, nutritional counseling, survivorship counseling, physical therapy, and emotional counseling. According to Schwieters, the Masks in the Moonlight committee has worked hard to make this event better every year to meet those needs, “Our committee has grown from the first year, allowing so many different talents and ideas to emerge. Everyone goes above and beyond, and when we combine everyone’s gifts, we end up with an amazing night!” This magical evening will include a gourmet dinner, an acrobatic show, live auction, silent auction, a live band, dancing and more. So grab your masks and join us for this fun, fabulous event!
