DAtES: MARCH 10, 2025 - APRIl 18, 2025
Greeting from the Bishop
Dear Beloved in Christ,
I greet you in the precious name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. What an incredible blessing it is to embark together on this sacred journey of prayer and fasting for 2025. My heart is filled with joy and gratitude as we unite in this powerful season of seeking God’s presence, guidance, and transformation.
This year’s theme, ANCHORED IN PURPOSE, focuses on "Rooted in Purpose, Flourishing in Faith, Walking with Vision," which reflects the heart of what I believe God desires to do in each of our lives during these 40 days. As we set aside time to fast and pray, we are making room for God to deepen our spiritual roots, strengthen our faith, and give us clarity for the path He has set before us.
I am excited for the breakthroughs, the answered prayers, and the spiritual growth that will unfold during this time. Together, we will experience the power of unity as we align our hearts with God’s will and trust in His promises. Know that I am praying for each of you, that God will meet you in a profound way and that this season will leave an indelible mark on your life.
Let us approach this journey with expectation, knowing that God is faithful and able to do exceedingly and abundantly more than we can ask or imagine. As we walk together through these 40 days, may His presence fill your heart, His Word light your path, and His Spirit renew your strength.
May this be a season of transformation and purpose as we root ourselves in Him, flourish in faith, and walk with God's vision for our lives.
With love and blessings, Bishop Sheldon Bernard
Welcome to the 40 Days of Prayer and Fasting for 2025! This journey is designed to help you grow deeper in your faith, strengthen your spiritual roots, and align your life with God’s vision and purpose. Over the next 40 days, you will be invited into a time of intentional devotion, reflection, and surrender as we seek God together.
Why 40 Days?
The number 40 holds deep significance throughout Scripture. It represents periods of testing, preparation, and transformation. From Moses spending 40 days on Mount Sinai in God’s presence to Jesus fasting for 40 days in the wilderness before beginning His ministry, these periods were marked by renewal and a deeper connection to God. During this time, we, too, will dedicate ourselves to seeking His presence and will for our lives.
Theme:
This year’s theme calls us to:
• Be Rooted in Purpose: Deepen your understanding of God’s purpose for your life by aligning your heart and mind with His Word.
• Flourish in Faith: Strengthen your faith through prayer, fasting, and meditation on Scripture, trusting in God’s promises even in uncertain times.
• Walk with Vision: Embrace the clarity and confidence that comes from seeking God’s guidance and walking boldly in His plans for you.
Each day of this guide is structured to help you connect with God and grow spiritually. Here’s how each day is designed:
• Morning Devotion: Start your day with a reflection to inspire and align your thoughts with God’s Word.
• Three Prayer Sets:
1. Morning Prayer: Center your day by surrendering it to God.
2. Midday Prayer: Reconnect with God to refocus and draw strength for the rest of your day.
3. Evening Prayer: Reflect on the day, thanking God for His faithfulness and resting in His peace.
• Scripture Readings: Each day includes three Scripture verses (morning, midday, and evening) to meditate on and guide your prayers.
As you begin this journey, take some time to prepare your heart and mind. Reflect on what you hope to gain during these 40 days. Are you seeking clarity, renewal, strength, or breakthrough? Lay your desires before God and trust Him to work in ways beyond what you can imagine.
Fasting is a powerful spiritual discipline that helps us focus on God by setting aside distractions. Whether you choose a traditional fast, a Daniel fast, or fasting from specific activities, remember that the goal is to draw closer to God.
