KATIE McCALLUM President

Dear Members,

I want to thank you sincerely for the outpouring of feedback we received through our annual membership survey - we had 500 responses!

The board relies heavily on the information we get from the survey to find trends in what members are experiencing, find out what’s working and what isn’t, and make budgeting decisions going forward. We refer directly to survey results as we plan for the future of our club, so when you take the time to respond you are helping immensely with that process.

Club management has also recently launched a new feedback mechanism: you can email feedback@bishopsbay. com at any time throughout the year to alert management or the board of something that needs to

be addressed - or something that has been a huge success! Direct input from our membership makes our club stronger and we truly appreciate hearing what you have to say.

Another way to have a big impact on our club is participating on one of our many committees. If you would like to serve on our Golf, Greens, Pool, Rackets, or Membership Engagement committee, please email Jeff Murray at JMurray@ bishopsbay.com. We would love to get you involved.

I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Cheers to turkey, football, and family - and cheers to enjoying the aforementioned even more because you had Bishops cater the meal!

All the very best,

GOLF COURSE UPDATE

Marc Davison and his team have been taking advantage of the great fall weather and quieter golf course to get some major improvements done on the golf course. The following items have been accomplished and/ or will be accomplished prior to the winter: replace fairway sod in stressed areas on several holes, repaving and widening the cart path in several locations on the Capital 9, fix all remaining bar spots on the edges of the cart paths, modify the three stacked sod bunkers to have some positive grade away from the walls, plant more than twenty-five new trees on the course, and lastly improve the native grass areas by reseeding several acres of turf with fine fescue grass to take over the existing blue grass. This is a great start to the 2023 season and we believe these enhancements will make significant improvements to the golf course.

WHEN WILL THE COURSE CLOSE FOR THE SEASON?

That is a good question. As always, this is dependent on what Mother Nature has in store for us. Any extended period of below freezing temperatures or snow cover is what generally determines our closing date. The earliest we closed during the past several years was in 2014 when we had to close on November 10th, but on the other end of the spectrum, we have been able to stay

open several days into December too. No matter what the weather has in store for us, we hope you enjoyed the golf course this season!

HOLIDAY GOLF SHOP SALE

We are having our annual holiday golf shop sale on Friday and Saturday, November 11th and 12th. Hours are 12pm to 7pm on the 11th and 9am4pm on the 12th. Select seasonal items will be discounted from our already great member prices. We look forward to seeing you then!

GIRLS WIAA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP

We had some strong representation at the state tournament on Monday and Tuesday, October 10th and 11th the University Ridge Golf course. Amanda Beckman, Vivian Cressman, and Sydney Weiss(reserve player) lead their Middleton Cardinal team to a second place finish behind back to back champions Westosha High School. The Waunakee Warriors finished strong in fifth place behind Jordan Shipshock and Izzi Stricker’s solid play. Additionally, Izzi won the individual title two days after her father Steve won the Champions Tour event in Florida. We hope the golf course and practice facility at the club helped you prepare and perform at the championship, and we are proud of you all!
