“The weather was perfect and the course was in great shape. Some of our sponsors have been with us since the beginning and they continue to amaze us with their generosity and participation. The money raised from this event goes directly to upgrading the facilities at Bishop Noll. Starting with an idea to fund the auditorium project and then to the weight room and STREAM Lab and now to the outdoor facilities, the outing continues to make a difference. In 2024 we again raised more than $130,000 for Bishop Noll. As we closed the chapter on 2024 and thought about all the work, we quickly booked Briar Ridge for the 14th Annual Outing on June 9, 2025. We thank everyone for their help and support.”

Scholarship Fundraiser

The inaugural Jon Bock Memorial 3v3 Tournament took place July 7 at Bishop Noll. Twelve teams competed and raised more than $2,500. All money raised goes toward the Jon Bock Memorial Scholarship Fund. Jon Bock ’12 passed away after a short illness in 2019. He had been a proud BNI Warrior and played guard for the State-runner up team in 2011.

The Theology Department experienced a makeover and added new faces. Kevin Driscoll, who previously taught sophomore theology at Noll, is the new director of mission and ministry. He holds a bachelor’s degree in communications/broadcasting from Illinois State and a master’s degree in pastoral studies from the Catholic Theological Union.

Driscoll was also recently appointed to serve as the theology department chair. Before his move to BNI, Driscoll served the Diocese of Gary for 16 years as its Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry, working directly for Bishops Dale Melczek and Donald Hying.

In the new role, Driscoll hopes to integrate the many spiritual elements that already exist at Bishop Noll, while also creating new opportunities.

Aibel Joseph, who teaches senior theology at Noll, is Noll’s new Campus Minister. He holds a bachelor’s degree in theology, religion and ethics and is working toward an M.A. in Theology.

Jen Pasyk, a new theology and English teacher, received her master’s degree in education: curriculum and instruction from Olivet Nazarene University.

Dena Neville has committed to two years teaching theology courses on vocations and social justice to BNI seniors. She has a degree in education, and is a participant in Notre Dame’s ECHO program, a graduate program that prepares young men and women for jobs in ministry and Catholic education.

Diocese Receives Gift

We are grateful to the Dean and Barbara White Family Foundation, Big Shoulders Fund and the partnership they have created with the Diocese of Gary. The foundation donated $150 million to Big Shoulders Fund to benefit 20 Diocese of Gary Catholic schools, including Bishop Noll, and the families we serve.

National Eucharistic Congress

A group of students representing Bishop Noll Campus Ministry attended the historic National Eucharistic Congress in Indianapolis, joining an estimated 50,000 from across the country.

The group attended a dynamic youth session with speakers, music and prayer, a diocesan Mass with Bishop McClory and other Catholics from NWI, and also joined a Eucharistic Procession through the streets of Indy.

Mr. & Mrs. Bellisle, Deacon Brown, Mrs. Brown, Mr. Driscoll, and Mrs. Patino accompanied the BNI student representatives.
