BIRDIE FORTESCUE
the amunet collection | aw26
Amunet is inspired by the beauty of ancient interiors. Named after the Egyptian goddess, the collection reflects the decoration that Birdie was particularly taken by during her travels through Egypt. Amunet evokes timeless beauty, transforming centuries-old references into a collectionof unique textiles, furniture and accessories for contemporary living. Echoing the intricate murals, painted borders, and decorative motifs discovered inside ancient tombs and monuments, Amunet is defined by graphic geometrics, painterly effects and repeating patterns. The collection introduces block printed, knitted and embroidered cushions, lampshades and throws, as well as striking woven hanging lights with a coloured trim and versatile brass wall lights. Complementing the textiles, a new furniture collection draws on Birdie Fortescue’s expertise as an antiques dealer, taking inspiration from the clean lines and restrained proportions of mid-century furniture. Crafted in rich walnut finishes, the curated collection includes the Mekong dining chairs, the Hana collection with raffia-fronted cabinetry and the Walnut Inlaid Pedestal Table. Elegant silhouettes and understated detailing create pieces that feel both classic and contemporary. The new collection reflects Birdie Fortescue’s ethos of creating interiors that feel globally inspired and timeless, blending ancient artisanal detail with everyday comfort and elegance.
