PILLOW CASE WITH FRILLS FINISHED SIZE: STANDARD PILLOW 20 x 26”(51 x 66cm) MATERIALS: • BIRCH CREATIVE Fabric - SUMMER LOFT collection • ROSES PINK - 53 x 26cm - 1 piece for central panel • ROSES WHITE BLUE - 53 x 23cm- 2 pieces for side panels • PINDOT PINK - 53 x 70cm piece for cushion back 53 x 25cm piece for the flip • MEDALLION BLUE - 8cm x WOF - 2 strips for the small frills • PINDOT BLUE - 11cm x WOF - 2 strips for large frill • DAISY BLUE - 11cm x WOF - 2 strips for large frill NOTE: 1 cm seam allowance included in the measurements.

CENTRAL PANEL Fold the length of the MEDALLION BLUE strips in half, wrong sides of the fabric together, matching the seams. Sew the raw edges together with longest stitch length setting on your machine.

Take the central panel from ROSES PINK fabric.

Gather strips approximately to the length of the panel. Pin them to both edges of the panel.

Place side panels on top of the central panel with wright sides facing matching edges of the panel and edges of the frills together. Sew along the edges. Press and top stitch along the frills.

PILLOWCASE BACK Take BACK piece, fold over 1cm on the end (where the opening will be) to the wrong side, press, fold again 2cm and press. Top stitch this hem close to the edge.

LARGE FRILL Join 11cm strips together alternating the fabrics.

Fold the length of the strip in half, wrong sides of the fabric together, matching the seams. Sew the raw edges together with longest stitch length setting on your machine.

Fold the strip in half and in half again. Mark the folds in the seam allowance to find even fourths of the strip.

Match the marks on the strip to the middle of the central panel (top and bottom)and middle of the side panels.

Gather the fabric strip to fit the edges of the pillow front, evenly distributing the fullness. Keep the strip at the corner in from the edge to prevent accidentally stitching the ruffle to the side. Pin the frill in place.​Sew it to the pillow front.

ASSEMBLY Take 53 x 25cm piece for the flip and make 1 cm hem along one long edge. Place pillow FRONT and flip pieces on top of each other with wright sides facing and frill between the layers.

Sew them together.

Lay pillow FRONT with right side facing you, place pillow BACK piece wright side down, matching the edges. Fold flip over. Make sure frill is inside pillow at this step. Sew around three sides. Turn pillow right-side-out.
